Kicker Toy Look at that, a coffin-shaped kicker toy! Purrfect for our little vampurrs to lick and kick. This has a slit in the back and I stuffed a little catnip inside and my cats treated it like a giant lollipop.
Zoey got it first since she’s the oldest. Her claws grabbed on tight and she licked the back for a while.
Sunny usually goes wild for catnip but I think that Zoey’s scent was all over this and Sunny decided she didn’t want the leftovers.
Vampurr Cape What a cute costume! I can’t see my cats wearing this for long but it’s perfect for a photo op and October screensaver. It’s plush velvet and has a Velcro closure at the neck.
When Zoey is upside down she has a fang that hangs out so this is the perfect costume.
Nail Clippers I really need to learn how to clip Zoey’s nails, they grow so fast, and now I have the opportunity to try it out for myself. Will she be happy about it? Probably not, but it’s nice to have received such a practical item.
Treat Ball Toy I didn’t have any treats to put inside this ball (which twists open so you can place nummies in there) so I used some dry cat food and it didn’t take long for it all to fall out. I need to find some moist treats and try that instead.
Sunny and Zoey both enjoyed rolling this around on the floor.
Brush I am always lamenting why cat boxes don’t send practical items, like brushes, so thank you Cat Kit for sending a slicker brush! Zoey isn’t a fan of any brush but Sunny absolutely loves to be brushed, and it’s pretty easy to remove most of the fur from the bristles when finished. I used our regular, double-sided brush to start and then remembered that this one had come in, so I grabbed it and used it on Sunny a few times. In the end I removed an additional 3 or 4 brushfuls of fur that the other brush missed. Great job Pusheen Box!
Super Spooky Food Bowl This is cute for the season, although I would prefer a more generic design for year-round use of course. It’s a sturdy plastic or melamine bowl with a metal (aluminum? stainless?) removable dish and it holds around 3/4 of a cup.
Donut Teaser Toy I didn’t notice until later that this is supposed to have a donut on the front (see picture below). Does it have catnip inside? I don’t think so, but the cats still played with it a little.
Mainly they sniffed at it but there’s hope that they might throw it up in the air in the future.
Litter Mat This mat is smaller than the two I have currently in place but of course it is useful and who knew litter mats could be cute?
At first I got a kick out of watching my cats play with this box (I punched out the pre-serrated holes) and placed some catnip inside. Sadly, Ms. Zoey got her head stuck in one of the holes and couldn’t get it off (see last picture above) so when I figured out what was going on I carefully removed her noggin and threw the box in the recycle bin. If you want to place some toys inside for your cat to bat around, I would suggest sitting nearby just in case and remove the box from the room when you can’t watch and intervene (like at night or if you are leaving the house).
I believe this is my third Cat Kit by Pusheen Box and it was my favorite so far! I felt like everything (well, maybe not the cape) was useful and my cats enjoyed everything (again, except the cape) too, which is also important. It was the perfect blend of fun and functional and that’s all I could want in a box.
