Here’s everything you need to know about this cat litter subscription
PrettyLitter Subscription Box Review
Cats also need a comfy place to take care of their dirty business. While traditional litter may suffice, it’s within the owner’s discretion to find something more fitting and pleasant for our feline friends to do their thing. Cat paws are sensitive, so sometimes, buying the wrong one may even create “call of nature” problems – probably, like pooping or urinating outside of the litter box! And we can all agree that it’s not the way it has to be.
Cats are also known to hide their illness and stress until they really feel in pain. Vet checkups and other procedures sound a lot crazy, and you may need to shell out big bucks in doing so. As owners, we could only wish that we can detect our feline’s health problems early. So while searching the internet for cat litter, I came across the brand PrettyLitter. It is a monthly subscription that offers a more advanced litter that eliminates odor and keeps tabs on your cat’s health.
Founder & CEO Daniel Rotman created PrettyLitter to help cat owners be more proactive about their cat’s health. The idea came from his heartbreaking experience and paying thousands of dollars for vet procedures. The brand’s goal is to detect early health problems in cats so you can save their lives and your bucks too! Many cat owners have been talking about it, so I have to try it. My PrettyLitter Review
PrettyLitter sends a monthly delivery of cat litter right to your mailbox. This isn’t any grocery store litter – PrettyLitter can help you keep tabs on your precious little kitty’s health!
My PrettyLitter was sent in a postal envelope, and I was surprised first of all by the smallness of it, and secondly by how light it was! I was sent one 4-pound bag, which is enough litter for one cat for one month. I have two cats so this will need to be replaced in two weeks. You can choose your shipment based on how many cats you have. I would need 2 bags a month.
There was a card inside with info on PrettyLitter. It said to pour the whole bag into the box so we did, after cleaning it of course! I didn’t encounter that mushroom cloud of litter dust that I usually get with my non-clumping cat litter.
Here’s the part that might help you help your cat – PrettyLitter changes color when there is something wrong with your cat’s urine! This is not meant to keep your cat from having regular veterinary checkups but can help you out between yearly visits.
Is PrettyLitter Worth It?
PrettyLitter really IS pretty! It looks like sea salt or sugar but is highly absorbent and environmentally friendly silica. I didn’t detect any scent in the litter at all. In fact, I didn’t detect any scent 24 hours later when I scooped out the poop. I did remove a big clump of the yellow-colored product (yay, my cats have normal urine!) but I think I was supposed to just mix it in with the rest of the litter, as removing it will cause the amount of litter to be quickly depleted and then it won’t work well. 48 hours later and again, my house has no “cat box” smell. When I scooped the poop, I couldn’t smell a thing. My husband was also impressed with how well this has worked so far! If it continues to work and smell good for the next 12 days or so, then I won’t switch back to regular litter.
TWO WEEKS LATER…
Oh my goodness, this stuff is amazing! My house never smelled bad, and all I had to do was remove the waste every day. After a week it was pretty smelly when I removed the clumps, but once I stirred it all around and replaced the lid, there was absolutely no cat box smell. I was pleasantly surprised at how well PrettyLitter worked and plan on continuing to use it from now on!
Did you know, on average, cat owners spend $22 a month on litter? That $11 bag of litter you buy only lasts on average 2 weeks. PrettyLitter costs less than brand-name litter because one bag lasts longer. It works so well, a single 4-pound bag lasts an entire month per cat.
PrettyLitter’s formula makes it easier for you to use and clean your litter box. Its highly absorbent crystals do not clump, but instead absorb moisture, trap all odor, and eliminate the urine. That means less work, no odor, and less mess. Only scoop the poop!
All About PrettyLitter
Cat parenting is as happy as it can be as long as you knock stress down! PrettyLitter is not a diagnostic tool but can be a good indicator of your cat’s potential health problem.
How does PrettyLitter work?
PrettyLitter is a subscription. So when you sign up, you can expect regular deliveries of cat litter. They’ll get you started by asking how many cats you have at home – one, two, or three – and how often you like to receive shipments (every month or every three months). Type in your shipping and payment info, and that’s merely all you need to do for your subscription to begin.
PrettyLitter is a non-clumping litter. It is made from super absorbent, lightweight silica gel and developed by a team of veterinarians and scientists. And since the silica gel is made from naturally occurring minerals, it is absolutely safe for pets. It is the same ingredients that is widely or commonly used in topical and oral medicines, as well as food and cosmetics for decades.
One amazing feature of PrettyLitter is it can help detect potential health problems in cats. It is combined with a proprietary health-indicating formula that changes color when touched with a cat’s urine to help you monitor your cat’s health and detect potential health issues early. Listed below is what each changing color means:
- Dark yellow or green – urine is normal and within the typical range
- Orange – urine is acidic and may indicate metabolic acidosis or kidney tubular acidosis
- Blue – urine has alkaline compound and may indicate certain types of urinary tract infections or increased risk of stone formation
- Red – urine has the presence of blood and may indicate bladder crystals, feline lower urinary tract disorder, or certain types of kidney disease
PrettyLitter emphasizes that it is not a diagnostic tool but may provide insights into your cat’s medical condition. New subscribers also have 30 days to love the product or return it if not completely satisfied within 30 days for a full refund. You can also cancel the subscription at any time.
How much does PrettyLitter cost?
The price for PrettyLitter depends on how many cats you have at home. For US orders, it cost $24 per month for 1 cat, $44 for 2 cats, and $66 for 3 cats. For Canada orders, it costs $30 CAD for 1 cat, $55 CAD for 2 cats, and $82 CAD for 3 cats. If you purchase more than one bag, you’ll save 9%. The shipping fee applies and varies depending on your location.
