Living Tonics uses living mother of vinegar. Here’s an explanation from Acid League about this important ingredient:

“Mother of vinegar” is a substance composed of a biofilm of cellulose and living acetic acid bacteria—best described as a jello-like disc or small slimy globules that you may have noticed floating in our vinegars. The mother provides a safe home for the bacteria to transform alcohol into acetic acid, creating vinegar. In industrial vinegar-making, the mother is filtered out but it’s completely harmless. In fact, we believe leaving the vinegar mother in brings increased health benefits since the beneficial bacteria aren’t removed from the finished product.

The Living Tonics Taster Set ($60) includes 300 ml bottles of Living Tonics in Vanilla Manuka Spice, Coffee Chaga Maple, and Passionfruit Oolong.

Vanilla Manuka Spice Living Tonic features apple cider vinegar with Madagascar vanilla and Vietnamese cinnamon, making it warm and comforting. With the added Mānuka honey, it also provides a sweet taste and great health benefits like digestive improvement and natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Coffee Chaga Maple Living Tonic is an energizing mixture of dark roasted cold brew coffee, pure maple syrup, and raw apple cider vinegar. Another key ingredient is Canadian chaga mushrooms, which are known to help reduce inflammation, enhance immune function, and lessen the cholesterol level with regular intake. As a coffee lover, I really enjoyed this blend!

For those who like a fruity blend, there’s Passion Fruit Oolong Living Tonic that mixes apple cider vinegar with passion fruit and sea buckthorn berry juice. Compared to the other variants, this is smoother to drink because of the herbal notes of the oolong tea. It also has incredible health advantages with its vitamin C content and immune-boosting properties.

To prepare, you just have to dilute 1 oz of Living Tonic with 8 oz of water. You can use hot or cold water. If you want to experiment a bit, you can also add them to smoothies. Acid League recommends taking it in the morning, after waking up, for the best results.

Two of these blends contain caffeine, but not more than the caffeine content of regular coffee or tea. Passion Fruit Oolong has approximately 3.5 mg of caffeine per serving and Coffee Chaga Maple Living Tonic has approximately 15 mg per serving. For comparison, tea has about 25 mg and coffee has about 95 mg.

Acid League is a great option for people who are tired with their regular tasting apple cider vinegar! All of these products have promising health benefits as well, especially when you take them in the morning, right after waking up! Since they are available on a subscription, it’s easy to ensure that I have enough stock of ACV at home. You can get the Taster Set if you want to try all of the blends first, but if you already have a favorite flavor, then you can get a box containing only one flavor! This is really a convenient subscription for those who love apple cider vinegar and also for health-conscious people.
