This month’s book pick is The Aquanaut by Dan Santat ($11.69). It’s a graphic novel that revolves around how Sophia, the main character, teamed up with four goofy sea creatures who man an antique diving suit to save marine life at Aqualand. It’s not just a tale of deep-sea adventures, but it also shows the grief of losing a loved one and also teaches the true meaning of love and family. This story will make children laugh, cry, and amaze their minds, all at the same time. The book is full of cool and vibrant drawings, and my son can’t even put it down just for one second!
To satisfy sweet tooth cravings while reading the book, here are Gummy Sea Critters. We received two in the box, each individually wrapped. One is a crab and the other is a sea turtle. They look too cute to eat! Plus they’re sweet, fruit-flavored, and gluten-free!
After a whimsical adventure under the sea, the kids can play this Life In The Ocean Card Game. With 30 cards included in the pack, they’ll be sure to learn about aquatic creatures in the ocean. There’s even a die, so players can take turns rolling it and ask questions to each other. Such a fun way to discover more about sea life!

This cute red plush is magnetic and can be attached to your little explorer’s shoulder wherever they go! It’s soft and cuddly and features cute details and textures for added fun. This was a huge hit with my kids, and it’s been featured on their shoulders, the fridge, elevators – any place that’s magnetic!
Each box also comes with an Adventure Guide that’ll steer more enjoyment! Inside, you’ll find Q&A with the featured author, Dan Santat. There’s also a page with a STEM activity for kids to work on. For this month, it’s called “What’s Glowing On?”. It explains a biological phenomenon called bioluminescence, where sea creatures can produce light. They also provided a non-toxic highlighter and UV flashlight to help kids easily execute the experiment. In addition to discussion questions, the guide includes a Bookaneer log, a special writing activity, a recipe for Deep Sea Parfaits, and more!
This month’s crate took the kids on an underwater adventure! It’s ocean-themed with a great selection of bookish goodies. My kids enjoyed reading the book and loved the colorful illustrations as well. Of course, they also had fun playing the card game. The plush is an added bonus that made my daughter smile from ear to ear. This curation was a hit with everyone.
