Kinder Beauty Box is a vegan beauty subscription box. This subscription sends out two variations every month and I received the PICK ME UP box for February (the other box was called FLATTER ME). I received a mini eye shadow palette, a perfume rollerball, and more! A bonus is that each brand featured in the February boxes is woman-owned so show them some love this month!

Kinder Beauty’s subscription box made the list in our 2022 readers’ choice picks of best skincare subscription boxes!

Panga Bamboo Toothbrush ($6.49) After not receiving any toothbrushes in boxes for a while, I ended up receiving two in one month! This toothbrush is made with a biodegradable bamboo handle and has BPA-free nylon bristles that are soft but effective. It has a wide base so that it can stand next to the sink, I guess as opposed to lying next to it. I have a toothbrush holder and this won’t fit in the openings. Although the brush itself worked well, and I liked that the head wasn’t super big, there are two things about this brush that I didn’t care for. Number one is the wide handle base, it wasn’t comfortable in my hand, I guess it’s not ergonomic or whatever but it felt odd and uncomfortable. Number two has to do with bamboo toothbrushes in general – I guess I have texture issues and my gag reflex seems to be getting stronger the older I get, but I don’t like the feeling of the wood inside my mouth.

Delia Organics: Goji Glow Cream ($19.50) According to this brand’s website, this product is new and is available for preorder! It’s a non-greasy cream that glides on beautifully and can be used by all skin types, just pair with an oil or serum if your skin is on the drier side. It has apricot and sweet almond oils, aloe, soy protein, black goji extract, and lavender oil. It has a light, sweet scent and smells mostly like lavender. It’s supposed to hydrate the skin and improve skin tone.

Inkling Scents: Pulse Roll-On ($25.00) I am always a fan of trying new scents and this one comes from Inkling Scents. They offer both essential oil and perfumed oil rollerballs, and this scent is one of the long-lasting perfumed oil products, it lasts for hours. I’ve noticed that some of Inkling’s scents seem to mirror perfumes you may have heard of before, and Pulse shares the same fragrance notes as I Love NY For Her by Bond, and the description even says “like stepping off a train in the center of a thriving city” which might bring to mind the Big Apple. Those scent notes include mandarin, blueberry, nutmeg, pink peony, musk, patchouli, and vanilla. The only one of those I can smell is the musk, but when I first rolled it on I could smell something floral, a note like burnt sugar, and something woody. At first sniff, it reminded me of either English Laundry for Her or something from Raw Spirit Fragrances. The musky base lasted for hours and this perfume had lots of staying power.

100% Pure: Creamy Long Last Liner in Blackest ($27) I had high hopes for this pencil liner, which is my preferred type of liner, as I tend to make a mess of the liquid kind. I swiped it across my hand to make sure it was warm but no need, it glided on effortlessly, and the smudge on my hand lasted through a wipe with tissue, several hand washings, a shower, and a couple of rounds of dishwashing. Sadly, it didn’t fare so well on my eyes and by the end of the day, it was very smudged. I appreciate that it seemed to come off easily with makeup remover before bed and I didn’t see any liner left the morning after, which sometimes happens with other brands.

Estate Cosmetics: Just A Taste Eyeshadow Palette in Merbabe ($14) I want to tell you that while the pictures I took of this palette look a bit too dark, the pictures on the brand’s website are way too light so please keep that in mind if you choose to purchase it for any reason (and see the picture below, that looks more true to life). The brand calls it a neutral palette but the two darker colors are very warm, almost terracotta in color. I swiped the lightest color all over my eyelid and up to my brows, then tried to apply the aquamarine shade on the lid but it provided a sheer wash of color, whether I used a brush or my finger (and I used a primer). Then I worked the darker colors into my crease. I was worried the shadows wouldn’t last all day, especially after I easily wiped off the swatch with a dry tissue, no remover was needed, however, I thought it still looked pretty good by the end of the day.

The February Kinder Beauty Box had lots of lovely self-care and beauty items and I enjoyed giving them all a try! I think my favorite item was the Inkling roll-on perfume, the scent lasted forever and smelled really stunning, warm, and comforting. I liked the shadow palette once I put it on my eyes, while the liner lasted forever on my arm swatch but smudged under and around my eyes. Sadly, I think bamboo toothbrushes aren’t for me due to texture issues but I love that we have a sustainable alternative to use nowadays. Below are some more box opening pictures along with the product info card!
