Dermy Doc Box sends a new skincare curation every quarter, curated by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Fatima Fahs. For Winter 2022, the box is packed with items to keep the skin healthy and nourished despite the cold weather. It has a promised value of over $130!

DEAL: Get $5 off your first box! Use coupon code HELLODERMY.

Beauty Rx Gentle Cream Cleanser ($28) Out of all of this box’s products, I haven’t tried this one yet. It has a couple of ingredients that are definitely not intended for sensitive skin, namely Methylchloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone, which have been banned from Whole Foods. I avoid it because I had a really bad reaction to Head & Shoulders that resulted in hair loss, and those ingredients were also in the WEN hair care products that also caused hair loss. Their use is restricted to wash-off products, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t still cause irritation. I applied some to the back of my hand and can tell you that it is creamy, like rubbing on moisturizer, it rinsed off easily, and had no scent.

Tower 28 Beauty SOS Daily Facial Spray ($28) There was an insert in the box touting the benefits of hypochlorous acid, which, along with water and salt, make up this facial spray. It’s supposed to fight off inflammation and bacteria, and it’s formed when bleach is dissolved in water (it’s also found in our white blood cells). It’s approved for wound cleaning and is considered gentle to the skin. I’m pretty sure they used something similar when redoing my root canal. You can apply it to the face twice a day after cleansing and before using other products like moisturizer. Yes, it kind of smells like a swimming pool.

Vaseline All Over Body Balm ($5.99) This is mostly petroleum jelly but in stick form for easy application to elbows, heels, thighs, or minor skin irritations or to prevent friction sores. It’s easy to use, perfectly portable, and has no perfume or scent. I like it!

Glad Skin Eczema Cream ($10.50) The first few ingredients in this creamy lotion are once again petroleum, plus colloidal oatmeal and mineral oil. It can be used on the face or body and is supposed to relieve the inflammation and itchiness from eczema. It’s not as thick as a balm but feels soothing and again, I appreciate that there is no fragrance or scent.

The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($7.99) Hyaluronic acid is supposed to help hydrate skin and this one is supposed to work through several dermal layers. It can be used twice a day and should be applied immediately after cleansing the skin. This one has a gel texture and no scent that I could detect. So in order of use: cleanser, hyaluronic acid serum, treatment, moisturizer, then SPF.

Pure’am Super Glow Dew ($45) I like facial oils, although I would prefer that they didn’t have essential oils in them, but at least there’s no artificial fragrance in this product. This one glided on dreamily and didn’t leave me feeling especially greasy. I used SPF over top and it made a great base for my powder foundation. This product is supposed to balance oiliness while nourishing the skin and is made with vegan squalane, sweet almond oil, chia oil, jojoba oil, a few more oils, and some essential oils.

NOTE: The following item is an add-on and not included with the subscription.

Rotating Skincare Organizer ($25) Right now when you purchase this skincare organizer with a subscription you can save $5! I thought I would have a hard time putting it together but it was pretty simple to assemble, and there’s a video on the Dermy Doc website that shows how easy it is and where the little rubbery donuts go. You can toggle through the pictures above to see how it looks when it has this month’s products sitting in it!

As always, Dermy Doc Box has lots of products and they made sure to mention that every product may not work for everyone, but in most cases, they are pretty universal. I especially liked the Pure’am face oil and the Vaseline balm. This assortment was worth around $125.48, and I liked the skincare organizer (sold separately), I thought it was a good value and similar items were more expensive on the Amazon and Ulta websites. It’s the item I didn’t know that I needed but that I’m not sure I can now live without!

Below are some more box opening pictures and a look at the product info guide and additional skincare cards. Most of the brands offered coupon codes to save on future purchases.
