The February 2022 BOXYCHARM had a Glam-entine theme, although I felt like the items I received were more like basic building blocks of a look rather than outright glam. Only two items in my box combo were makeup this month (last month it was 4!). See what I received below!

Yensa Tone Up Primer Essential Glow ($35) Most primers tend to have dimethicone as an ingredient but I didn’t see that listed, which means it already is a step above other primers as far as I’m concerned. It has “SuperBlack” essences of ingredients such as sesame oil, tea, and chia and goes on easily, with a light pink color and without much scent at all. I thought my powder foundation overtop looked pretty good and my skin looked nice all day long.
Alleyoop Multi-Tasker 4-in-1 Makeup Brush ($28) is a 4-in-1 makeup brush that has not only a brush and sponge on each end, but can be unscrewed to reveal a brow and eyeshadow brush inside! The blush brush was too soft for my needs but worked well to swipe on just a hint of highlighter. I haven’t used the sponge applicator or the brow brush yet but the eyeshadow brush also worked well.
Bali Balm Pineapple Lip Scrub ($23) Scrubs are so easy to make and yet I rarely do so it’s nice to have them on hand. This one smells like pineapple and left my lips soft afterward. I applied to damp lips and scrubbed gently with my finger then tissued off when finished before wiping with a warm washcloth to get all of the sugar off.
OVP Beauty London Loose Setting Powder Translucent ($21.65) I’m not a fan of setting powder simply because I already wear a powder foundation, so I’m not sure if this one is any good and was sad to see talc as the first ingredient since it tends to be inhaled, at least by me. This one is supposed to leave the skin matte but not flat and should be used to set foundation. You could also apply a layer underneath your eyes before applying shadow and then whisk it all away afterward. It has a sifter lid to control how much comes out at once.
ACE Beautē Glow Essentials Highlighter Palette ($40) I thought this highlighter palette had some pretty shades, both warm and cool. They brushed on easily and added a shimmery effect that wasn’t too over the top. I will say that I thought it rubbed off easily, I couldn’t tell it was there by the end of the day.
Here is the highlighter palette swatched. Poppin (third one down) had a pretty pinkish/purple glow while Beaming (bottom) could almost work as blush.
I was especially happy with my new primer and highlighter palette from this month’s base box. The lip scrub also worked well and had a tropical fruity scent/flavor that warmed me up on a cool morning. The brush worked well enough but the setting powder will be gifted because it’s not a product that I can or want to use. My box had a value of around $147.65 and all products were available at the brands’ own websites.
