Winter Boxes are still shipping daily and we expect any remaining to have shipped by early to mid March. We originally projected that these would ship by late February with just a few noted exceptions, so we sincerely apologize for any delay.
We completely agree with many of our messages to us that our boxes should be delivered in-season, when they’re curated to be enjoyed, and want to assure you that this is what we’re striving for! Unfortunately, our Winter Box was impacted by covid-related delays, but we did our very best to project what these might look like, share those timelines at the start of the season, and do everything in our power to offset any unforeseen changes.
“Covid-related delays” look like: merchandising with the assumption that it would take, say, 1.5 months to make a product and, say, 1 more month to receive product by sea, but products ultimately taking 2-3 months to make (due to factory closures and labor shortages) and 2 months to arrive by sea (due to “traffic jams” created by container, labor, and driver shortages). These seemingly small increases make a big impact.
The good news is that we’ve made a million and one changes (bumping up merchandizing timelines, more than doubling our product team, improving the efficiency of our shipping, etc.) to make sure we get ahead of things like this and anticipate much quicker shipping going forward.
