It’s January, time to break out the recipes and oils from my Simply Earth essential oil box! This month I received 3 single oils and one blend and the recipes for January are personal care items!

DEALS: Receive a FREE Big Bonus Box with your first box. Deal applies automatically, just VISIT AND SUBSCRIBE. Plus, get a $40 gift card you can use for your next box or future purchases!

Everything in my box! Subscribers receive free access to the online Essential Oil Hero Course to learn even more about how to use the products. Plus, Simply Earth has launched a Toxin-Free Skin Care Formulation Course, so if you are especially into natural beauty products, go to their website and enter your email for more info!

There were six recipe cards inside. Some of the cards have the recipe continue on the other side, others have some important info, so read on below to see what they are saying.

Katie, Simply Earth’s lead aromatherapist, discussed January’s theme. A second card says proceeds will be donated to help end human trafficking – they always donate 13% to this cause although the organizations may vary each month. A third card described each of the oils and listed the extra items in the box, and a fourth card describes how to save 50% off your next box.

Here’s a sneak peek at what we will be receiving next month, along with a list of supplies we should have handy for completing one of the projects. Already stocked up on some of those upcoming oils? You can switch oils in your account for an extra charge.

I want to remind everyone that they shouldn’t use these oils if they are pregnant or nursing and be careful when using them around children and pets.

Here’s a sheet of pre-scored stickers to put on our containers as we complete our projects.

Kaolin Clay and Zinc Oxide are two powders that we will be using in some of our recipes. Simply Earth usually adds their new products the following month to their online shop, but you can most likely find these online if you want to make projects in larger quantities.

Body Powder Puff Hmm, maybe we’re making a body powder this time around? Sounds like a good thing to have on hand for me personally since Central Texas can be humid year-round.

Deodorant Tube There are plain cardboard containers on the Simply Earth website already but this one is so colorful! It is also reusable.

Citrus Burst Essential Oil ($11.99) Citrus Burst is the featured blend for the month. It is comprised of lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, and bergamot. That’s a lot of citrus! It’s sunny fresh and of course uplifting, how can that much citrus not be?

Clary Sage Essential Oil ($19.99) I’m not really familiar with this herb, this is my first time owning this particular oil. It’s supposed to relieve pain such as menstrual cramps but also may help fight off panic attacks, depression, and more. It smells both herbal and floral.

Dark Patchouli Essential Oil ($14.99) Patchouli is one of my favorite scents, I love the dirty floral notes, and when I say dirty I mean like actual dirt, although “earthy” is probably a nicer way to say it.

Pine Essential Oil ($11.99) Pine smells just like a tree and a little like floor cleaner. It may also fight off aches and pains and kill germs.

The bottles all have special droppers to help the oils come out slowly, and the patchouli dropper is white.

Below are a few of the recipes that I made using the items in this box!

The Winter Contentment Roll-On was as easy as mixing some essential oils in a bottle, topping with a carrier oil, and popping that rollerball in place. The roll-on bottle and carrier oil came from the Big Bonus Box.

Next, I made my own Solid Perfume! The essential oils used were the same as the rollerball above so I decided to add some patchouli to the mix. This was super easy to make and I’m considering starting to make these as gifts because the result was totally adorable and of course smelled good too.

The New Year New Me Diffuser Blend was one of my very favorites, but then again, I love patchouli!

I enjoyed making some new beauty items with the ingredients and recipes in my January Simply Earth box! There are still a few more items to make but for now, I have a new solid perfume and rollerball blend plus I’ve been diffusing the latest recipe for days now. If you need some help on how to make some of the recipes then check out the Simply Earth website and their YouTube channel, where they demonstrate all of the steps.

Simply Earth is a monthly subscription that sends high-quality essential oils along with recipes and ingredients to make natural beauty and home products! Each box comes with 4 essential oils, containers, extra ingredients to make the recipes, and 5 – 7 recipes on recipe cards. When you sign up (and every 6 months thereafter) you will receive a free Big Bonus Box full of extra containers and ingredients needed for the recipes, such as carrier oils and bottles. Simply Earth is $39 a month. They feel strongly about giving back and donate 13% of all profits to help end human trafficking.

Simply Earth’s essential oil subscription made the list in our 2021 readers’ choice best green & eco-friendly subscription list!
