Books & Music: Fiction

The Ballerinas by Rachel Kapelke-Dale ($23.49) This mystery novel started slow-paced, presenting the friendship of a group of girls until one of them moved to St. Petersburg to start a new life. Albeit starting slow and easy, the roller coaster of emotions begins as the plot thickens. This debut novel touches on achievement, nepotism, talent, and friendships. If you’re the type of bookworm who loves reading character-driven books, this should be on your shelf!

Included in the box is the What It Takes playlist – a curated music list that goes perfectly with the story. You can scan the QR code to access the playlist and enhance your reading time. Also included in the guide are discussion questions and an author feature. Of course, there’s a new recipe to try, which is Savory Sea Scallops with Angel Hair Pasta!

Books & Music: Young Adult

All Of Us Villains by Amanda Foody ($9.49) This young adult dystopian novel is dark and twisted, but with lots of magic. It revolves around teenage contestants of a vicious tournament and their individual stories. Although set in a ruthless and cruel world, the characters are likable and relatable. In addition, if you are easily drawn to morally grey characters, you will definitely see a lot of them in this book.

The Dark Ambitions curated playlist matches the novel’s theme really well, which includes songs by Imagine Dragons and Billie Eilish. Aside from the author feature, you’ll also see a list of characters from the novel, a recipe for Tiktok Ramen, and an entertaining crossword puzzle!

Delivering good reads straight to your door, Now in Books is such a convenient way to explore different genres or authors to widen your reading experiences. It’s a great subscription for anyone who wants to receive a fresh book every month, and also for people who want to reignite their love for reading. Aside from the book, there are other things in the Books & Music box to be excited about, like the playlists for those who love to listen to music while reading, recipes for those who love to read and eat, and even extra activities to entertain you after you read the book!

The books arrived in individual boxes and were also wrapped in Now in Books paper. I also received a bonus bookworm pin this month! See the packaging and the pin here:
