Love takeouts? This new year, you can opt to cook your own version of your takeout favorites. Middle Eastern Chickpea Bowls, for instance, is a healthier alternative to shawarma, but with the same flavor, aroma, and warming spices that you love!

It’s healthy because it contains protein-rich chickpeas. What gives it the delicious flavor is the combination of Shawarma spice, salt, and pepper. This is also pretty easy to prepare. I just popped the veggies in the oven and waited for them to get lightly charred and then I cooked the basmati rice using the veggie stock concentrate included in the box.

To cap off this tasty and filling dish, I made a garlic sauce using sour cream and minced garlic and then poured it on top of the rice and chickpeas.

For plating, we used two shallow bowls. The great thing about this dish is that you can adjust the hot sauce depending on your taste. For the final touches, sprinkle chopped cilantro and squeeze lemon, then it’s good to go! This dish smells great and tastes just as great!

Another delicious dish to add to your lunch or dinner menu is Italian Chicken Over Lemony Spaghetti! This pasta dish only takes 30 minutes to make, and even cooking beginners will find it easy to prepare.

I cooked the zucchini with olive oil and seasoned it with salt and pepper. The protein source for this dish is the chicken cutlets. They already arrive pre-portioned, so you can cook them right away. Each side takes about 3 to 5 minutes to cook.

For the sauce, I mixed olive oil, garlic, lemon zest, and a pinch of chili flakes. You can always add more spices if you want your dish to be really spicy. The last step is to toss the spaghetti, cooked zucchini, sour cream, and butter, then season with salt and pepper to taste. I divided the serving before finally topping it off with chicken, lemon zest, and fresh parmesan. I’m in love with the zesty, creamy taste of this dish! I was also in love with how well my zucchini cooked since I say goodbye to nonstick and hello to a new stainless steel pan. I was legitimately shocked how well it cooks at higher temps.

For taco lovers, you might want to skip the takeout and make One-Pan Santa Fe Pork Tacos instead. The preps are quick and easy, plus cleaning up after is a breeze!

This is the easiest of all three dishes in this box, and it’s perfect for busy individuals who still want to eat hearty meals without exerting much time and effort. This recipe only requires four simple steps – cut, mix, sautee, and assemble to serve.

My kids helped me prepare the slaw and they enjoyed it as well!

As they did the slaw mix, I sauteed onion in olive oil, then added a pinch of salt to taste while stirring occasionally. Once translucent, it’s time to add the ground pork and season it with the Southwest spice. Let it cook for some time, and it’s ready!

Here’s the slaw that my kids helped prepare! It’s already delicious, and we can’t wait to stuff it into the tortillas.

To warm the tortillas, all you need to do is wrap them in a damp towel, then pop them in the microwave until warm and pliable. Neatly arrange them on a plate, and they’re ready for filling!

Stuff each tortilla with the pork filling, add the slaw, sour cream, and sprinkle with Monterey Jack and the remaining cilantro!

There’s enough for the whole family! This tastes just as great as restaurant tacos and we also had fun making them!
