The August and September Edition of my TVK Beauty Box arrived in a sturdy little box styled out in pretty pastel colours. A little bit of crinkle cut shredded paper keeps the contents safe.

A little note about the packing of the box adds a personal touch.

The box features 5 products with a value of over £40.  Details of each product are given in the What’s Inside Your Box sheet.

The info sheet includes beauty tips from Hannah-Jane Taylor, a beauty and food influencer known as Beeveganbabe on Instagram.  Her tip is to use the same product on your lips and cheeks, and also to always carry lipliner and lip balm.

As usual, £100 from this edition of the Beauty Box goes toward Animal Free Research UK, the UK’s leading non-animal medical research charity which funds and promotes the development of techniques and procedures to replace the use of animals in biomedical research.

When misted over the face, MUA Makeup Academy Pro Base Primer Spray 70ml (RRP £4.00) creates a smooth base for makeup application. While I liked the finish of the primer itself fine enough, I found it tricky to apply with a spray bottle – the mist was too heavy and kept getting in my hair!

FOAMIE Rose Oil Face Bar with Niacinamide (RRP £5.99) is a soap-free, plastic free bar made with rose oil, Vitamin B3, shea butter and jojoba. I absolutely love this and have been using it every day for several weeks now. Just a tiny stroke of the bar is enough to gently cleanse the entire face and leave skin soft and hydrated. This has been brilliant on my skin and I also enjoy the calming, mild scent. This is a great little bar at an excellent price point.

Be3 Evolution Absolute Look Mascara (RRP £14.99) uses an hourglass applicator to create volume and length that lasts all day. I tried this several times but no matter how I applied it, I was always left with excessive clumps of mascara on my lashes. If you want mega volume and very thick lashes this may be a reasonable choice, but I found it far too thick and clumpy for regular wear.

Q+A Seaweed Peptide Eye Gel 15ml (RRP £6.50) contains collagen building peptides and organic aloe vera to create a firmer under eye area. Although 97% natural and fragrance-free, I found this stung my skin when applied, so after testing it out for a few days I reverted back to a more soothing and cooling under eye gel.

Dr Botanicals Strawberry Superfood Vitamin C Day Moisturiser (RRP £14.90) contains Vitamin C, B6, E and K from strawberries and juniper berries to hydrate, soften and refresh skin. I enjoy the subtle scent and the lightweight, non-greasy feel. My only complaint is that the moisturiser squirts out of the tube too easily so I often end up with excessive amounts to apply – a little goes a long way.

While I really liked two of the products in this edition of the Vegan Kind Beauty Box – the FOAMIE face bar and the Dr Botanicals moisturiser – the other products did not wow me. With an overall box value of £40, this edition was also not as great a value as previous boxes. However, I still love the ethos of this box, and as I usually find more than a few products to love, I look forward to seeing what the next one has in store.
