There were six recipe cards inside. Some of the cards have the recipe continue on the other side, others have some important info, so read on below to see what they are saying.

A note from Katie, lead aromatherapist, tells us we are making items that have the scents of the season, think spices and greenery! Another card informs us that Simply Earth donates a portion of proceeds to help fight human trafficking.

Here’s a sneak peek at what we will be receiving next month, along with a list of supplies we should have handy for completing one of the projects.

I also found a list of everything in this month’s box. I want to remind everyone that they shouldn’t use these oils if they are pregnant or nursing and be careful when using around children and pets.

Here’s a sheet of pre-scored stickers to put on our containers as we complete our projects.

Containers We received two PET containers that are considered safe to use with essential oils. They will be put to use in this month’s recipes.

Macramé Mini Kit Hmm, this looks interesting! Macramé was so popular when I was a kid and it’s neat to see it’s making a comeback.

Here’s the oils for this month. We received three single oils and one blend.

Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil Blend ($7.99) I have several eucalyptus (eucalypti?) oils but this is my first time ever hearing of lemon eucalyptus!

Each bottle shows the plant part used, country of origin, and aroma notes. This one reminds me of citronella and smells like it would keep mosquitos away. It may help fight off fungal infections.

Each bottle comes with a euro dropper to make it easy to pour out a single drop at a time.

Bay Essential Oil ($11.99) I’m familiar with bay leaves, I use them in cooking all of the time, and this is the oil from those leaves.

This is a smaller bottle than the others, just letting you know. I was surprised by how sweet this oil smelled.

Bergamot Essential Oil ($16.99) Bergamot comes from the peel of a bitter orange and it gives Earl Grey tea its classic flavor/aroma.

It may help promote calmness and has that amazing scent, now I want a cuppa!

Vanilla Woods Essential Oil Blend Vanilla Woods is a new blend and wasn’t available at the inline shop yet, so I’m unsure how much it costs.

It’s a blend of Peru balsam, benzoin (a tree sap/resin), and vanilla. It smells rich and lush, and kind of like vanilla frosting!

Here’s a few of the recipes I made with this month’s box!

Christmas Grove Room Spray required salt and water from my kitchen. I heated the water, stirred in the salt to dissolve, let it cool, and then poured it in the container along with the essential oils. Make sure the water is cool or the oils may evaporate and then you’re just spraying salty water everywhere. I watched the online video and the ladies at Simply Earth said you can use alcohol instead of salt and water if you like (in either case it’s to act as a preservative).

Vanilla Woods is the scent I pick up when I spray this around my home, it smells a bit like I’m baking a cake!

Next I made the Relax Massage Oil. I needed the almond oil from my Big Bonus Box but that was it.

All I had to do was mix the carrier oil and essential oils together in the bottle and then I gave it a good shake to disperse the oils. This smells a little medicinal at first but then the bay fades away and it is much more relaxing after that.

Holiday Dinner Support Roll-On required fractionated coconut oil and a rollerball bottle from the Big Bonus Box. I simply added the essential oils to the bottle, poured the carrier oil in until the bottle was almost full, and then made sure the rollerball was securely in place.

I gave it a good shake and now I have an oil blend that can be rubbed on the tummy to help support the digestive process. It smells a lot like bug spray and may help keep mosquitos away too.

The projects I made with the oils and extras in my December Simply Earth Recipe Box were fun and easy and as always, they smelled really good! I still have a few recipes left to make but my diffuser is still full of last month’s blend so I haven’t tried the new one yet and my daughter will be home from college soon and I know she will love making the Macramé Ornament and Tassel Diffuser. I am excited to have a couple of new oils in my collection and the recipes this month didn’t require much from my pantry except for a bit of salt, the rest came from my Big Bonus Box. The recipes using bergamot reminded us to not wear them if there’s a chance we might be exposed to the sun (citrus oils can make the skin more sensitive to the sun’s burning rays) and as always, when using essential oils on the skin, make sure to dilute with a carrier oil (like coconut or almond) to avoid a negative reaction.
