Cipher Skincare’s C-Shield Antioxidant Serum ($95) Made by an Australian brand, this water-based serum helps refine the skin’s appearance and leaves it looking bright and radiant. It’s also lightweight yet highly hydrating, ideal to use during cold days.
I like the simple packaging. The outer part is straight to the point while the inner part of the box packaging looks enchanting with all the patterns on it.
They used sodium ascorbyl phosphate in this formula, which is the esterified sodium salt of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). What’s great about this ingredient is that it has a long shelf life and won’t easily oxidize because of light and air exposure. Another key ingredient is ascorbyl glucoside, a vitamin C derivative which brightens the skin, boosts collagen, and delivers moisture.
The formula is also cruelty-free, vegan, silicone-free, essential oil-free, and fragrance-free. I like that it came in a pump bottle because that makes it easier and less messy to dispense.
To use, just get a pump of the serum and massage to damp skin gently. Don’t be surprised with the deep brick red-hue of the serum, as it fades after you apply it on your skin. You can also follow it with your favorite moisturizer!
Skin Alchemist’s Time Traveller Renewing Face Cream ($116.56 approx.) Next up is a face cream from a British brand with Caribbean roots and it came in a cute little purple box!
At the bottom of the box is a sticker containing more information about the product like its manufacturing date and expiration.
This cream is formulated to deliver deep hydration while also reducing the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles. It contains colloidal silver and black seed oil with skin clarifying properties, antioxidant-rich bakuchiol, and cupuacu butter that softens the skin. Other ingredients are aloe, squalene, cacay, rosehip, and sea buckthorn.
It’s ideally applied over serums and before applying sunscreen. It feels luxurious when applied, and it doesn’t feel heavy or sticky either!
This Boxwalla Beauty box features not just one but two brands, and both are promising! The serum is a great way to plump up the skin and make it look glowing, while the cream definitely adds to that glow and even provides anti-aging benefits. Overall, I’m happy with these new skincare discoveries they help prime and prep my skin for holiday looks. If you’re looking to try plant-based and non-toxic products without going over budget, this subscription is a must-try! It ships every two months and the retail price of the featured items always exceeds the price of the box!
