In the wake of the Birchbox acquisition, Katia, the brand’s founder, has sent out a message to subscribers. As it wasn’t clear (especially with subscribers receiving old boxes), Birchbox has said in the email that beauty boxes will continue to be sent out.
To you, our customers:

You may know that Birchbox has been acquired by FemTec Health, a health and beauty sciences company. I am so excited to embark on our journey together, especially because of what I think it can offer all of you. Take a look at my interview with Cheddar for more inside info on our transaction.

I have always believed in bringing function, delight, and ease to our customers and after eleven years, I believe it’s time for Birchbox to take the next step. We were pioneers when we started because we challenged what was possible in beauty with the aim of making the entire market better. We are all about beauty, it’s our core, what we believe in, but we also believe that beauty transcends just what you see on the outside, and why should Birchbox not be a pioneer again, in a new but deeply connected space? FemTec Health enables us to do this.

Now, I know how much you love your beauty boxes and that’s what you will continue to receive. If you are interested in receiving more personalized beauty products and wellness items, then we can bring that to you too. We hope to continue to build our relationship with you, to understand you better, and now bring you more clean beauty products, science-based skincare, and services that are unique to you and your body. We will always be careful to protect your privacy and your data, with you in charge, every step of the way!

Join us on this exciting journey!

You may have received an email to subscribers about points being added. Although we’re subscribers, we don’t seem to get the subscription emails anymore! 🤷‍♀️

I am glad I cancelled this months ago. I noticed over time, the birchbox was really declining. I like getting makeup samples, and it was trending more for skin care. I am ok with a lil skin care, but the makeup seemed to be cut back. I think the days of amazing sub boxes are gone. Ipsy and Boxy have really gone down hill as well for makeup content.

The science company hasn’t taken over Birchbox yet, so……… Plus Birchbox is going to continue to offer the same type of products they did before, with the addition of the science based products that they are going to add.

I received my November box yesterday, it was terrible (random cheap brands… the samples add up to barely over the $10 I paid). I’ll watch to see how BB evolves under new ownership, but for now I’m not regretting my decision to terminate my subscription… even though it means I’ll lose my $10 rate.
