Birchbox has announced that it’s pausing their November 2021 Sample Choice Selection. No other confirmation yet whether it’ll be for this month only or will affect to future boxes.

We are pressing pause on sample choice for the month of November. One of our favorite perks of our monthly boxes is Sample Choice customization (and we hope it’s been a favorite of yours, too!).

We value your loyalty and hope you’ll stay tuned for some exciting news because we have something awesome in store coming your way this month.

    I have 5 boxes left in my prepaid subscription but no activity has happened on my account for over 6 weeks. No answers to my questions about where by box is. Cancelling subscription after 6 years.

    There is an article out on Forbes this am, Birchbox was sold. They will continue to have the subscription but focus more on individualized needs apparently.

      I saw that they’ve sold and while are keeping the subscription it will be more need oriented. I sure hope it wasn’t purchased by Boxycharm like Ipsy was. Boxycharm & Ipsy fail miserably at going by the beauty quizzes they supposedly go by to match their products to their customers. I received & have canceled both. I also feel like when bought out we should be able to cancel as it’s no longer what I subscribed to.

    The last 6 boxes have very similar products. Every time I want to select a sample, it is sold out! There has only been one box to select as well. Most of the time, can’t even use the products, so at $15.00/month, seems like a waste of money. Joining Fabfitfun where at least you receive full size, quality products at less cost! Subscription is only $49.95/quarter. Sorry, Birchbox, but I will be cancelling when my commitment is up!

    Also wondering what’s up. When they talked about the sample choice, didn’t they say there would be two boxes for options and one full-size product you could get?

    I’ve been swapping for points each month and have been sad to see the number of items out of stock or unavailable when trying to shop on their site.

      Yes, it was supposed to be that we could choose from 2 boxes, 1 of which was guaranteed to all be clean beauty, or we could choose a full size product, or we could swap for points, or of course choose a sample. The last several months there has only been one curated box to choose from, and I’m not even sure if there were full size products to choose from.

      Very fishy or concerning or both.

        Thank you! I thought I was losing my mind. I joined back in May and was sure it said when I joined that there were two curated boxes but I have never been given that option, only a clean beauty box , the ability to choose one of three items for your box, or swap for credit. I’ve not seen a second box, nor a full sized item.

      I was wondering the same thing. They haven’t had anything new in ages. It doesn’t help that I’m afraid to buy from them, because I think their merchandise might be old.

      I bought a 12 month sub late earlier this year, so I’m with them for a few more months, but lately I’ve just been swapping for points. They used to offer a “clean” box, but haven’t done that in a while.

        Mine (finally!) expires in March. I’ve been swapping my box for credit for the past five months. Bought their Limited Edition Head-to-Toe box with my $64 credits. Nine full-size products. Frickin’ love it.

        I’m concerned that I’m not going to be given the option to swap in November.🤔

          Yes, that is my concern, too. Silly me, I have 2 subs. On one I usually get a customized box or choose a sample, and on the other I have been swapping for points. I don’t want to not have that option this month and be forced to pay for something that I might not like.
