Here’s a column by Dr. Dimitri Christakis, which provides useful tips and advice for parents. This month, he discussed how can parents determine if their child needs a pair of glasses.

Poppy’s Duck Chase. Every KiwiCo Panda Crate contains a fun book for toddlers. It features recurring characters and this month, it features Poppy chasing a duck!

Poppy admires a nest of ducklings when one of them suddenly takes off! Follow along as Poppy chases after the duckling – will she be able to get the duckling home safely?

The book provided some suggestions for the parents to keep a baby engaged and interested.

The illustrations are fun and charming. You can turn it into a tactile experience by encouraging kids to follow Poppy and the duck by tracing the trail line with their finger. The pages are also pretty sturdy.

Wood Rainbow. It’s a puzzle that helps enhances a toddler’s hand and eye coordination with the use of wooden pieces that resemble a rainbow when put together. These pieces were colored using non-toxic, water-based ink and varnish. Aside from building and balancing the pieces, kids can also use these for color recognition practice.

Ramp Racer. Here’s another toy set made with wood, and it consists of a ramp and a ball. This teaches kids what makes things move and why they stop. Since they are made with solid beechwood. they are really sturdy and they can withstand repetitive play.

Butterfly Drop. This toy is a perfect way to practice visual tracking!

The window has a slot where toddlers can insert the wooden butterfly. Then, they can observe how the butterfly bounces. The butterfly bounces differently each time so it makes a great surprise!

The butterfly piece has a double sided design.

This is really a fun and engaging toy that’s perfectly designed for little hands!

Spin-and-Slide Board. This board is specially designed to help improve visual discrimination skills. The toy includes parts that slide and spin with every interaction. One side features a bird and pinwheels.

Another side features a caterpillar and a lady bug! You can encourage a toddler to spin the gears and slide the button. They can use one finger to move them or two fingers to turn them like a doorknob. Another benefit of using this toy is to strengthen the child’s ability to focus and search.

Each Panda Crate is always packed with age-appropriate developmental toys for toddlers. This month, the box focused on toys that are designed to help develop visual tracking skills, which is important for direct hand movements and correctly shifting their gaze from one item to another. Another thing to love about this box is that they make sure that all the toys they send are high quality and toddler-friendly. It’s also great that they include a book in each box! If you’re looking for toys specially made for toddlers, this subscription box fits the bill!
