Kinder Beauty’s subscription box made the list in our 2021 readers’ choice picks of best skincare subscription boxes!

First look! Kinder Beauty Box sends out two box variations each month.

Each month, it will be a surprise which of the two boxes you’ll be receiving, but you can rest assured knowing that they are always each going to be incredible in their own ways.

Wondering what happens if you really, really, really want one of the monthly collections in particular, but you receive the other? Got FOMO on your brain? We feel you.

No worries! At the end of the month, if we have any boxes remaining, we’ll offer them to members only at a special price in our exclusive monthly Add-On Shop. This way, you won’t miss out.

NOTE: It looks like subscribers who have a 6-month pre-paid subscription can now choose their box by logging into their account and doing the following: manage subscriptions, edit, product, then choose the box you want. This is only available if it is your second or later box, because the first box is always the Kinder Favorites.

Here’s the front of my information card.

The back of the card had all of the items in my box. The September collections were called the EARLY BIRD BOX Collection OR the NIGHT OWL BOX Collection. I received the EARLY BIRD BOX Collection. It is important to know that when you sign up, your first box will be a Kinder Favorites box, which is shown on their main page and is different from what is in this review.

Wake up on the right side of the bed with a collection of products designed to revive your skin, hands, hair and lashes. Time to rise and shine.

Looking good! The difference between this box and the Night Owl Box is that the other box has an aromatherapy rollerball instead of the face gel and a purple scrunchie instead of black.

Everything in my September EARLY BIRD BOX Collection! You can watch videos of Kellie, who looks like Emma Stone’s twin, trying all of the products at the Kinder Beauty website.

Province Apothecary Regenerating Exfoliator + Resurfacing Mask ($36) As far as masks go, this is one that I prefer because it doesn’t have clay to dry me out!

It has ingredients like oats, lentil, and flax flours plus lavender and green tea leaves. That’s it!

It’s a dry powder that you can mix with water or hydrosol so it’s great for traveling. There are a couple of different recipes on the brands website to help you customize it further for different skin benefits.

I mixed it with water and then applied it to my face, gently rubbing it around to exfoliate. I let it sit for a few moments and then rinsed it off under the shower stream. I didn’t smell lavender, it smelled like earthy oatmeal. It didn’t leave my skin dry or tight and I was happy with the results.

Moonlit Skincare Bamboo Silk Scrunchie in Blackout Black ($10) Scrunchies are always a miss for me personally simply because my hair is too short to need one. I have two daughters who I pass them along to and they always seem happy to get them. This one is made of “bamboo silk”, or viscose, a fabric derived from bamboo.

thisworks Kind Hands Moisturizer ($12) Oh my gosh, I am loving this hand cream! I already love the thisworks bedtime pillow spray and this has a similar fragrance — earthy, herbal, with a touch of floral notes too.

It’s a glycerin hand cream and it has essential oils but also parfum, I don’t think that wonderful smell comes from herbs alone. Shea butter and sweet almond oil are in here too and some of those essential oils include patchouli, lavender, and ylang ylang. I applied a dime-sized amount and that was enough to moisturize my hands but not leave them greasy. The only downside is that I want to walk around with my hands next to my nose, which looks weird, so I usually only wear this at home for that reason. Seriously, does this come in a rollerball or perfume spritzer cause I love this scent!

Delia Organics Wake Up Moisturizer ($15.99) According to the description this is a moisturizing toner that will reduce fine lines (hmm, really?) and help the skin glow.

The ingredients include water, witch hazel, aloe, plant extracts, and essential oils. Cica, which may help repair skin, is also listed as well as green tea.

This is a gel texture that smells like oranges (thanks to essential oils). It feels sticky until it fully dries. It can be used alone or with a separate balm or moisturizer.

My Little Mascara Club Length + Definition Mascara ($15) I’ve reviewed this mascara before, it has its own subscription box! I find it funny that the brand’s website compares it to Great Lash, which is a fraction of the price for a huge tube; I guess the benefit is that this product is vegan and doesn’t have methylparaben.

Here’s the list of ingredients.

It has a unique brush design and the handle is small to help make it easier to apply. Mascara should be tossed every three month anyways so it doesn’t make much sense to me to buy a huge tube. The technique is supposed to be key: apply from underneath, which is typical, but then apply from above too, then from underneath one more time. Don’t let the coats dry in between. I thought it worked pretty well and I had noticeable length which for my lashes is pretty good.

I was super happy with the September Early Bird Box from Kinder Beauty! If I had a choice though I would have preferred the Night Owl Box, mainly because it had a perfumed rollerball rather than a gel toner, but other than that the boxes were almost identical. The scrunchie was not for me but one of my daughters will wear it but the hand cream is all mine. The mask is another item I will use frequently, and the mascara worked well for my lashes. The value for my box assortment was around $88.99!
