This card tells us more about KidKits!

All of your KidKit activities are designed for you (or another adult) to engage and create quality time with your kiddos. They are easily adaptable to meet kids where they are. Whether that means side by side suprvision, hand-over-hand guidance, or somewhere in between!

Each activity provides opportunities to work on both cognitive and motor skills, and serve as an equally great language/communication tool.

Most importantly, have fun!

Another card lists the activities included in this month’s box, along with short descriptions and sample photos.

Everything in our box!

Summer Safari. The first activity is called Summer Safari! Using the cutouts provided and popsicle sticks, kids will make their own animal shadow puppets.

The kit included a glue that my kids can use for all the projects.

My daughter had no problem sticking the animals on each stick. She was even able to accomplish everything all by herself! The finished shadow puppets can be used for storytelling or for practicing animal sounds.

Pool Noodle Sail Boat. For the next activity, my kids made colorful sailboats!

My daughter started by decorating the sails of each boat. She picked her favorite colors and shapes!

The next step is to thread the straw through the sails and put the opposite end of the straw into the hole in the base.

Here’s the finished sailboats! This activity is a great way to practice color and shape identification skills.

Beach Ball. Here’s another summer-themed activity that my daughter enjoyed, Beach Ball making!

She sorted the paper squares by color first! This is also a way to practice a kid’s color identification skills.

Next, she patiently placed glue on every square and carefully arranged them on top of the paper plate.

Here’s the finished beach ball! The one on the left is my 6 year old’s, who wanted to do a confetti pattern.

Box of Doughnuts. Who doesn’t love doughnuts? For this activity, the kit provided doughnut cutouts along with a cute pink box. Kids just need to assemble them, and they can play with the finished doughnuts after.

My daughter used the glue to put everything together.

My son also joined in on the fun and assembled his own doughnut. There’s even icing in brown, white, and pink, plus colorful candy sprinkles!

Once the doughnuts are done, my kids proceeded in assembling the cute pink doughnut boxes. It was easy to fold on the scored lines, and then they glued the flaps to the inside.

The doughnuts look good! These can be used for pretend play afterward, to help enhance kids’ imagination.

Octopus Counting. For the last activity, my kids learned more about numbers with the help of their octopus friend!

Each tentacle represents a number and my daughter was able to put the correct number of circles on all of them! It actually took quite a while to count with my 3 year old, but we had such a nice time.

My kids had so much fun with this month’s KidKits box! It includes 5 fun activities, and everything is age-appropriate. These projects also helped enhance different skills, from fine motor skills to creativity to color and shape identification! My kids’ favorite activities are the DIY sailboats and the doughnuts in a box, but the rest are also pretty fun. It’s nice that all the materials are already provided, and even the materials like the colored paper arrived pre-cut. All in all, this box is a good way to encourage kids to get crafty! It can also be used over the whole month, but my kids were perfectly happy to do all the crafts at once!
