Hygge Box is a monthly subscription box for those who want to surround themselves with comforting objects that contribute to a sense of coziness and general well being. You can choose from the Deluxe Hygge Box ($40 for 5-7 items) or the Standard Hygge Box ($29 for 4-5 items) and shipping is extra. Items sent may include candles, drink mixes, edibles, home decor, or wellness products.
Hygge is about preserving happiness everyday. It is slowing down, being humble, expressing gratitude, feeling safe and connecting with loved ones. Each curated box includes handpicked items like below from around the world to inspire and evoke hyggelig moments.
I love the presentation! My items were wrapped in tissue paper and snuggled into shredded paper squiggles.
The definition of hygge was on the inside of the box lid.
I can’t wait to see what’s in here!
The theme for this box is Slow + Sweet.
The back of the card described the thoughts behind this month’s box. Each item from the box was mentioned. The bottom has the additional item that is in the Deluxe Box only.
Everything in my box! Obviously the puzzle doesn’t fit in the Hygge Box but they were packed together in a shipping bag.
Hygge Haus Candle in Greenhouse ($12 for similar) Hygge Box has their own line of candles and while I couldn’t find this scent, they do have others to choose from that are similar. The scent notes are on the lid and include agave, aloe, and fir.
Keep it within view while burning!
This is a 4 ounce candle made with soy wax. The scent smells green and fresh and it was noticeable while burning — the throw wasn’t super far but it also didn’t give me a headache, I think it was just right.
Unna Bakery Raspberry Jam Drop Cookies ($5.99) One thing that screams “summer” to me is berries, and I buy them all summer long. Here we have a summery raspberry shortbread cookie that is perfect for the season.
Here’s some background about the company and you can see the ingredients.
I opened the box to find 4 plastic packs filled with two cookies each, so no worries about them going stale, and I have afternoon fika (aka afternoon tea/coffee and cookie time) covered for the next several days. The base is a buttery shortbread cookie and it’s filled with raspberry jam and it’s super tasty.
Danica Studios Washable Paper Basket ($12) I’ve never heard of a washable paper basket before! If you need to wash this then please do so by hand.
It has bicycles all over and you can roll it up or down to the length you prefer. It feels very sturdy.
Here’s the inside. It is made of 90% paper and 10% latex. So cool!
Oliver Pluff Iced Tea Bag ($6) You can purchase a single iced tea bag from Hygge Box or buy a box of 16 bags at the Oliver Pluff website ($32.95 for 16 bags).
It’s a single bag that can make a gallon of tea. There were no instructions on the bag or brand’s website, so I reached out to Oliver Pluff and their suggestion is below. I don’t have a big enough container for the time being, but next time I have guests, I will make a concentrate and add water to each glass individually to save space in my fridge.
I would recommend you boil 4 cups of water and then steep the bag for 10 minutes or so (whatever your personal preference). If you want it sweetened, add up to a cup or so of sugar right after you remove the teabag. Stir well. (Only add sugar while the water is very warm). Then add the remaining 12 cups of water. As you add the remaining water, make sure the sugar is dissolved. Let cool or Chill. And then pour over ice. Enjoy!
HIC Ice Tray & Mold This is a multi-purpose item right here! Sure, I bet it makes cute ice cubes, but it is heat safe up to 500° so it can be used to bake brownies or use it as a candy, candle, soap, butter, or other mold.
It’s also microwave and dishwasher safe.
The following item is in the Deluxe Box only!
Nathalie Lete 1000 Piece Mushroom Puzzle ($19.95) I love puzzles, always have, and I now have a lovely collection thanks to the pandemic. My daughter and I spent many hours together assembling them over the last year and a half.
Here’s some info on the back.
It even came with a picture for reference and while the bag was sealed (as was the box), I opened it up so you can see the pieces. I have been moping about lately since my younger daughter is moving away to college, and I actually had tears in my eyes when I opened this, mushrooms are things that my daughters and I find fascinating and so it spoke to me. I was excited to start this, it can help me pass the time while I adjust to an empty nest, but when my youngest caught site of it, she asked me to wait, and so now we have something to keep us busy during her winter break.
Hygge Box is just the neatest box, I always enjoy the items they send and feel like it is curated just for me. I am all about feeling cozy and this box helps me discover new ways to feel comforted every month. The products were perfect for the season too, and included iced tea, raspberry cookies, a green scented candle, an ice cube tray, a bag/basket decorated with bicycles, and a puzzle. I am thrilled with all of it but obviously my favorite item was the puzzle!
What do you think of the Hygge Box review?
Comments
Love that puzzle! Seems like there are a couple different Hygge Boxes on the market, and I can never keep them straight. But this might be the one to try.
Isn’t it the cutest puzzle? I really look forward to getting this box, I think their comfy curation is spot on each month.
Bake brownies! I never thought of using an ice cube tray for that but what a great idea! I put leftover coffee in mine so the next time I want iced coffee I don’t have to dilute it with regular iced cubes.
I love the coffee cubes idea, and I bet it would work for iced tea too. I’m using mine today to make toilet bombs (citric acid, essential oils, etc.)!
I think all subscription boxes should include food!
I agree, especially if the food is as tasty as those cookies!
Love this!
Thank you Kc, isn’t it just the coziest box?
