The box arrived in good condition.
The kit shows up bundled neatly together under some cute red polka dots tissue. It was also secured using a Gramma in a Box sticker.
We also received a message from Gramma Terry! This month, the theme is Under the Sea!
This month’s projects are Clams on Coral and Theme Cookies.
The other side features the list of all the ingredients for each recipe. My kids are excited to make the treats!
Most of the items came in separate plastic containers.
Everything in the August 2021 box!
Clams on Coral. For the first activity, they provided vanilla wafers, candies for the clam’s eyes, candies for the pearls, white pareils, chocolate, and a pack of rice krispies.
As instructed, my kids placed a generous amount of melted chocolate on the vanilla wafers’ flat surface. Then, they added the pearl candy and some white pareils that will serve as bubbles.
They topped it with another piece of wafer and finally added the eyes, using the melted chocolate to make them stick. For the last step, they put the clams on top of rice krispies. How adorable!
My kids liked making their own clams. The wafers and the candies also taste great – the pearls were chocolate, surprise!. This was definitely a fun and sweet treat for the kids!
Theme Cookies. The next activity is decorating under the sea themed cookies! Aside from the cookies, they provided 4 colors of frosting and 3 kinds of candy sprinkles.
My daughter picked the starfish-shaped cookie and the light blue frosting.
She also placed some colorful candy sprinkles on top!
The next cookie she picked is the fish shaped cookie, which she topped with sanding sugar!
They can be creative as they want with their designs, so my kids had fun decorating the cookies.
Here’s a closer look of the fish cookie sprinkled with sanding sugar.
The other cookies looks amazing too! The starfish cookie is one of my daughter’s favorite!
There are also clam-shaped and fish tail-shaped cookies!
We put the finished cookies along with the clams from the first activity.
My kids loved that they were able to create a sea themed snack spread from the edible craft activities this month!
Here’s final look at the cute under the sea themed spread!
My kids really enjoyed this month’s Gramma In A Box projects! They made adorable clam treats for the first activity and decorated cookies for the second activity. As always, all the ingredients were provided in the box so my kids were able to start right away. There are also instruction cards and except for melting the chocolates, everything else required little to zero supervision. After completing all the treats and arranging them into a spread, my kids happily munched on them afterwards. Both the clams and the cookies were sweet and tasty! If you’re looking for a fun monthly activity for kids that they can do in the comforts of home, Gramma In A Box would be a nice pick. The edible craft activities they send are always themed and they even help enhance the kids’ creativity!
