FYI – there are SPOILERS in this post!

As a subscriber (limited numbers can join each month), you are invited to join the Society of Seekers, a group of like-minded puzzle friends who use their heads and a little bit of internet-search know-how to explore a city and solve a mystery each month. This month’s destination is JORDAN!

Everything in the box!

Included in the envelope is a welcome letter and checklist of every item that should be inside the package, plus all the clues needed to solve the mystery. This month, we need to discover the location of ancient scrolls that contain secrets of the ancient Nabataeans who first inhibited the arid lands of Petra.

Map of Petra. To accompany us in this month’s adventure, a map of Petra was provided by the box.

A beautiful scenery is also featured in this part of the sheet.

It also discusses the history and the mystery hidden in this month’s featured location.

Inside is a map of the Valley of Petra. It also shows 10 famous landmarks located in the area.

20 “Stone” Batons with Carved Letters. After carefully inspecting the batons, a simple conversion to meters helped me locate the destination required in this puzzle. I got a bit confused on the arrows placed on some of the pieces but it turned out that they also have a corresponding letter that completed the directions!

Handmade Natural Soap. Here’s a scented soap that I never thought would reveal one of the ancient scroll’s locations. After peeling the sticker, I saw the words “Only the clean will uncover” carved on its surface.

Squishing and breaking the soap into pieces provided the clue that I needed!

Incense Packet. I loved the scent of these incense sticks! It was also really helpful in solving one of the puzzles and was later used to provide a nice scent to one of our rooms.

The Treasury Puzzle. This was one of the hardest puzzles included in the box and I almost got stuck on this part! A closer look helped me find the identical jugs and then I removed the ones that were not needed.

Street of Facades Puzzle. This puzzle requires you to hold the paper towards a light source and to fold it like an origami.

Theatre Puzzle. This one is a tricky puzzle similar to solving a crossword puzzle! It looked weird because of the arch orientation, but after a couple of trial and errors, I finally got the answer I was looking for!

Royal Tombs Puzzle. I almost lost hope in decoding the symbols on this photo. It’s a good thing that I analyzed the other materials and found out that the Petra map is the key to uncover the words hidden in this puzzle!

Byzantine Church Puzzle. Here’s a puzzle that needs a smartphone to unlock a clue. Using the camera on my phone, a QR code mixed with the symbols on the specimen brought me to one of the locations needed to solve this month’s mystery!

Colonnaded Street Puzzle. For this puzzle, I used the incense in locating each of the letters needed to solve the clue. This was a bit confusing and a pain in the eyes but the reward definitely helped a lot in uncovering the secret of the ancient Nabataeans!

The Great Temple Puzzle. The clues and instructions may sound simple but constructing a series of pipelines using the columns proved to be a challenging task!

I learned a lot about the ancient city of Petra in Jordan through this month’s Finders Seekers! It brought me to a lot of historical and beautiful locations and the puzzles were really challenging.  It took me a while to finish this one but it was definitely fulfilling at the end. This is an excellent subscription for people who loves to solve puzzles and also for those who miss going to escape rooms. Everything you would need to solve the mystery is in one package and it’s totally up to you if you’d do it alone or with the help of family and friends.
