Mighty Fix is a monthly eco-friendly subscription from Mighty Nest that sends one item each month designed to help your family lead a healthy lifestyle. Subscriptions cost $11 a month, but there’s a discount if you’ll opt for an annual plan. Shipping is free and add-on items ship free, too.
FYI – this subscription ships along with Mighty Body if you also subscribe to that. I totally love their environmentally conscious shipping practices.
All the items came in their original packaging.
This month’s box includes an information card.
The back of the card has a description for this month’s MightyFix items. It has a tips on how to use the products as well.
Everything in my package!
Color Kitchen Food Colors 3 Color Packets ($6.50) The box includes 3 packets of natural food coloring which can be used for cupcake frostings, cookies, cakes, and more! Each packet can make 1 pint of frosting and you can even create more shades and adjust the intensity of colors easily.
Instead of artificial ingredients, they used spirulina extract for the blue food coloring, beet powder for the pink food coloring, and turmeric for the yellow food coloring.
Aside from being free from artificial dyes, these are also non-GMO, gluten-free, and vegan-friendly. To use, you just have to blend the color powder with dry ingredients before mixing everything with the wet ingredients.
If You Care Large Baking Cups ($2.29) Here’s the second baking related item in this month’s box, baking cups made from unbleached papers. They are chlorine-free, plus they won’t stick because of their natural easy release properties.
According to the label, these baking cups have various product certifications. It includes FSC, Ok Compost Home, OK Compost, and Seedling.
I received the large baking cups, which are perfect for making muffins! The other available sizes are jumbo and mini.
According to the label, the paper used for these cups are from FSC Certified forests. Instead of disposing them with your regular trash, they can be composted at home or at municipal compost facilities. Meanwhile, the cardboard used for the packaging should be recycled.
There’s no need to grease the cups, plus they are microwave friendly!
This month’s Mighty Fix focused on not just one but two eco-friendly baking items! The first item is a pack of 3 food colors, which are useful for making cupcakes, cookies, cakes, and more. They are free from artificial ingredients, so my family and I can enjoy our baked goodies guilt-free. The baking cups are also pretty awesome. They are made with environment-friendly materials, and the best thing is that they are compostable. They are better than regular baking cups which will only go to waste once we’re done using them. For $11 per month, this is a worthy subscription for any family or individual who wants to start a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Also, the items are always higher than the box’s value!
