The kit itself was packed in plastic.

There’s a mini booklet that shows what the finished product is supposed to look like. This time, I’m making a Crystal Suncatcher!

At the back, there’s a photo of the finished product.

The booklet lists all the items included in the kit, plus the items needed from home. There are helpful hints as well, so you can make the project with ease.

The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow. It’s even guided by photos, so it’s hard to go wrong.

Everything in my box!

For this month’s project, they provided two metal rings of different sizes as well as a spool of wire. This is going to be the base for the suncatcher.

The kit also included a side cutter and a tube of jewelry glue.

Here are all the other materials we need for this project! There are three bags of faceted crystals, a suede cord, a fishing line, and a prism crystal.

First, the metal rings should be placed together on one side. Using the metal wire, wrap it around both rings as tightly as possible around 10 times.

Once that’s done, lay the beads on a towel and follow the patterns shown on booklet. The next step is to cut the wires. You need 13 pieces of wires measuring 15 inches each. These will hold the beads for the suncatcher.

Now, it’s time to start placing the wire and beads on the base! Get one of the pre-cut wires and create a fold on one side. Place that fold over the large metal ring, directly across the wrap that holds the rings together. Then, tightly wrap the wire 5 times before stringing the beads from the Row 7 pattern. Once that’s done, wrap the remaining wire around the small metal ring for 5 more times before trimming the wire and tucking the ends into wraps with flat-nose pliers. Continue doing this process following the bead patterns in the booklet until all the 13 bead strings are placed. Seal everything with the jewelry glue by placing a small amount on each side of the wrapping and knot.

Next, thread the fishing line to the prism crystal by tying a double knot. Tie the opposite end of the line in the center of the row of beads, making sure that the crystal prism will hang in the middle of the small metal ring when upright. Trim the excess fishing line to give it an illusion that it is floating inside the smaller metal ring.

On to the last part of the project! Just get the suede cord and fold it in half. Lay the folded end on a surface, with ends at the bottom, and place the top of the large metal ring over the end of the suede. Pull the ends of the suede up around the centre of the row of beads and inside the fold of the suede then pull the ends to tighten. Now, tie the ends in knot and trim off the excess.

Here’s what the finished product looks like! It would look so beautiful hanging by my window!

I really love how it turned out!

Annie’s Creative Woman Kit-Of-The-Month Club sends fun projects every month, and this one isn’t an exception. The suncatcher is easy to make, thanks to the step-by-step instructions provided on the booklet. The kit also includes most of the materials. The few items that weren’t included can easily be found at home. I’m satisfied with the end product, as it makes a unique decor for my bedroom. The crystal catches the light beautifully and it also gives a dramatic effect over the whole room. If you’re looking for new craft projects to do at home, this subscription is for you! Most of the crafts they send are ideal even for beginners!
