Since this is my first box, the coffee bag arrived in a handcrafted wooden box!

Aside from the elegant box, the coffee was also wrapped in burlap and secured by a string. I really like their eco-friendly packaging!

I’m excited to try Spirit Animal Coffee!

Everything in my box!

Catuai / Bourbon in a Handcrafted Wooden Box ($47.20) It’s a pack of premium bourbon beans, known for its deep and creamy chocolate tasting notes. It’s less common compared to other type of coffee beans because the bourbon plants carry only a handful of coffee cherries per plant than other sources.

The packaging lists which micro-lot the beans are from, as well as the altitude level, roast, process, and harvest time.

There’s also stamp indicating that this coffee blend has 90.5 points on the coffee quality scale of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).

These medium roast beans were still fresh when they arrived. They smell so good as well!

Here’s a closer look at the coffee beans! According to Spirit Animal Coffee, they don’t use the sea route when transporting the beans. To keep the coffee fresh, they roast the beans in Honduras, and they pack them immediately before they are transported by air freight!

These coffee beans are ideal for drip brewing!

I instantly loved this blend as soon as I took my first sip. It was smooth, sweet, and the light fruit overtones made it really pleasant. There’s also a profound chocolate taste that captivated my taste buds!

This cup is bursting with flavors, definitely one of the best coffees that I have ever tried!

My first box from Spirit Animal Coffee is a remarkable one! The Catuai/Bourbon blend that I received this month is smooth and flavorful, no doubt I liked it from the first try. A single sip was enough to convince me that this is not an ordinary coffee and it’s definitely worth its price. I also appreciate the welcome gift, which is a handcrafted wooden box that can be used for storing the beans or other items. Another thing to love – two out of three of the Spirit Animal Coffee executives are Honduran, and they pay fair wages to growers. If you’re a coffee lover and you want to try premium, sustainably grown and packed coffee beans straight from Honduras, this subscription is for you!
