Everything in my February 2021 SCOUTbox!

Campsite Sticker. As always, the box comes with a sticker! This month’s sticker is camping themed.

Whetstone Knife Sharpener. This knife sharpener can be used to sharpen all kinds of blades. It doesn’t require oil or water to do the job.

It’s not too big or too small, just the right size that you can easily pack in your bag and bring outdoors.

Black pouch. This is one of the mystery items this month, a plain black pouch!

It fits the knife sharpener perfectly!

Gear Aid 550 Paracord ($5.95) This is an extremely tough 4 mm nylon cord that can be used to secure my gear and make all types of knots. It also included a heavy duty carabiner!

Wooden balls and rings. These wooden balls and silver-colored rings are also mystery items and they can be used together with the paracord to make a rope puzzle!

Morakniv Chisel Knife Carbon Steel ($15.99) This chisel knife is not your ordinary knife as it can be used for carpentry and wood work. It’s also pretty easy to sharpen using the whetstone knife sharpener included in this box.

A cradle holds the knife safely and there’s also a secure belt loop that easily fits most belts.

Aside from the impact resistant handle, it also provides a perfect grip for the user.

The 3″ carbon steel blade is so tough and sharp that it can cut through wood and leather easier than regular blades.

Outdoor Knots Water – A Waterproof Folding Guide to Essential Outdoor Knots by James Kavanagh ($7.95)

Knots have three practical purposes, to attach a rope to another rope, to attach a rope to an object or to allow a rope to perform a function. All knots have multiple uses. This Duraguide® provides simplified step-by-step reference on how to tie the most popular outdoor knots including those used for boating, fishing, climbing and camping. Learn a variety of ways to tie on to a post or rail, join lines together, shorten ropes, stop a line from running, bind materials together and rigging popular climbing and fishing knots. Printed on waterproof paper, this lightweight, pocket-sized folding guide is an excellent source of portable information that can be used to solve a variety of outdoor challenges. Made in the USA.

I love that this is waterproof, so I can bring it anywhere without worrying about ruining it in case it rains. There’s a brief introduction about knots at the beginning of the guide, and it also included some useful tips.

Each type of knot is accompanied by easy-to-follow illustrations.

Knowing how to make these types of knots can help greatly in camping and other outdoor adventures. I’m glad they actually included a cord so I can practice all these right away.

I love my new outdoor gear and accessories from SCOUTbox! They are all useful, but if I have to choose a favorite, it would be the knife and knife sharpener combo! They work well with each other and I like that I can use the knife in woodwork! I also like the cord and the knot guide, and I can’t wait to learn all the knot styles and techniques in the guide. They’ve started adding mystery items this month, and it actually makes the box more fun so I’m all for it!
