I received some Tea Bags. Just fill with your desired amount of tea, set in a cup, and pour water over to steep.
I always receive a tea postcard. That looks like a dark cup of tea, yum!
I found a sheet with info on this month’s teas. For February they sent romantic teas, full of flowers and chocolate. They introduced a new brand and included a coupon code for any purchase in the online shop.
Amoda generally sends a black tea, a green tea, an herbal, and a wild card. They almost always send blends but I love it when they send pure black tea.
Spirit Oak Tea Company Down To Earth Tea We don’t get pu-erh tea very often but I always enjoy its earthiness, it has a bit of a funkiness to it but in this case it’s mellowed by the cocoa nibs.
I didn’t find this to be astringent or bitter but I added sugar and milk and it was like dessert. It doesn’t really taste like cocoa and there was a hint of a smokiness to the scent.
Just Tea Nandi Gold is black tea from Kenya and it can be re-steeped if you like, just steep for a longer amount of time.
You can see the golden tips from the top of the tea plant! This was a wonderful cup of tea, and it was strong enough to stand up to milk and sugar. It was fruity and had a lightly floral scent.
Tealee Cool Raspberry Mint Tea Our green tea for the month has a fruity sweetness and uplifting minty note!
Gunpowder green tea is combined with freeze-dried raspberries and dried spearmint for a flavor combo I wasn’t sure about at first but that I ended up loving! The raspberry also has a bit of sourness that is welcome, kind of like a Sour Patch candy but in tea form!
Urban Earth Teas & Wellness Lavender Bliss I thought this sounded (and smelled) very romantic indeed, with lavender being the strongest scent/flavor here.
It’s so pretty too! This has a rooibos base (which is caffeine-free) along with lavender, rose petals, and elderberries. It tasted floral and smelled a bit like a natural perfume. I think I will make sure to only use 1 teaspoon next time, as it was a little strong (I used 1.5 teaspoons, I do this for almost every tea out there).
My February Amoda was very enjoyable, I loved the pretty teas, the flavors, and the not-so-basic black. Each flavor was tea-rific and I loved that they were so different from each other. I always appreciate that Amoda adds new tea blenders each time (like Urban Earth Teas in this box) and I have a tea for all times of the day, from strong caffeine in the morning, lighter in the afternoon, and an herbal for the evening.
