This month’s theme is “Terrific Tabata”. Usually, the box is colorful and well-identified, so the brown box was surprising and looked like a normal delivery package!

The information card reminds us that with the New Year, New You, it’s time to press the reset button and set new goals. And sweating it out is a nice way to do it!

The other side of the card gives us a bit more info on the two main items in this month’s box : Glyde Shorts and Organic Hand Cream.

This month, we are challenge to a High-intensity interval training.

The workout card’s welcoming words tells us that we are going to mix things up this month with a Tabata Training Plan to work our way through all the post-Christmas excess.

The card also gives us a background history of Tabata as well as the difference between Tabata and HIIT (the length and intensity of the intervals).

There’s also a list of Benefits of Tabata.

The guide provides us with different Tabata workouts, such as Sprint, High Knees w/ Jump Rope, Burpees and Mountain Climbers, Squat Jumps and Pike Jumps, and so on.

Treign Glyde Shorts. Light and comfortable, these shorts are perfect for sweaty Tabata training. Some subscribers thought it was an odd choice for a cold January box, but I was really happy to get them. Working AND working out from home, the house is heated to be comfortable when working in front of computers so it can get hot really quickly when working out.

They have both an elastic waistband as well as drawstring to make sure they stay were they are more comfortable.

They also have two deep enclosed pocked, and the zipper won’t brush against your hands.

The fabric is quite thin, lightweight and they do not constrict the leg.

W&E Organic Hand CreamAn organic hand cream with Aloe Vera Extract, this is a great addition to a winter box. The cream is fast absorbing and does not rub off easily with sweat and doesn’t have any greasy after-feel. My only issue is that I find it heavily scented, but that’s probably because I usually go for non-scented hand cream.

Skinny Dipper Almonds. The roasted almonds are dipped in a thin layer of chocolate, then a little bit of maple sugar and sea salt add an extra flavor depth and they are finished with a hint of cocoa (for the cocoa flavor) and a hint of peanut (for the peanut butter flavor). They are delicious!

The sweet and salty flavors are well balanced, and the almond flavor really shines through the chocolate. I would eat bags of them!

No Cow protein bar – Lemon Meringue Pie. A dairy free protein bar that only contains 1g of sugar for 22g of protein. Each bar has 120 calories, and has 5g of sugar alcohol. The protein is made of a blend of brown rice and pea protein.

It has a nice lemon meringue flavor, but the texture is grainy but soft.

Even though it’s surprising to receive shorts in a January box, this was a fun box. The shorts are comfortable and light, perfect for the Tabata themed box. I love the addition of a hand cream as hands can get really dry in winter and the SkinnyDipped Almonds are amazing and tasty.
