My beauty items came in the same box as my snacks but were placed in this bag to keep them separate.

There was a card that says we are supporting Whisper’s Sanctuary.

The back of the card lists the items and retail value. The theme is Skin is In! Please note that substitutions may be made. For instance, the card lists a fudge flavored collagen mix but I received it in vanilla.

I received 5 items this month!

Everything in my box!

SunWarrior Building Collagen Peptides ($2.99) Collagen tends to come from animal parts but the type in this powder comes from plants.

It has vitamins and minerals such as C and copper and the ingredients include pea protein, spirulina, coconut oil, and stevia. Mix into a smoothie or other beverage and consume the same day as it’s prepared. It adds 100 calories to whatever you put it in.

Body & Soul Miracle Eyes Firming Eye Balm ($29) Winter will be here before we know it and my eyes need the extra protection that this oily substance can provide.

It has quite a bit of oils inside, such as coconut, almond, hemp, and shea butter. It gets its color from matcha green tea and scent from essential oils.

It is very emollient and doesn’t absorb right away. I like the suggestion on the card that said to try using it with a jade roller. I have a pink quartz roller and decided to try it out and it felt cooling and the eye balm provided plenty of slip. The scent is pretty strong and herbal. I wouldn’t usually use such a strongly scented product near my eyes but will save it for those cold days when the winds are blowing.

Emma Hardie Purifying Pink Clay Detox Mask ($20) Clay masks help draw out oils and other impurities from the skin, leaving behind tighter pores. This one is also supposed to reduce redness and moisturize the face.

Clay is one of the first ingredients, along with a lot of plant essential oils and extracts, glycerin, sugarcane extract, and perfume. It has a light pink color and smells herbal. Leave on skin for about 10-15 minutes before rinsing and follow with a pass with a washcloth to remove any residue.

Eternal Apothic Super C Skin Crystals ($36) I thought this was a bar of soap at first! I had to destroy the box to get it open.

The ingredient list is short, just L-ascorbic acid, MSM, and coconut fruit juice.

The bottle contains crystals that are “activated” by adding water or hydrosol. It is supposed to help heal damaged skin and perk up tired skin. MSM is derived from sulfur, which may fight acne.

I sprinkled a bit of the crystals into my palm, added a couple of drops of water, and then mixed it up with my finger before patting it on my face. The crystals didn’t dissolve all the way, and didn’t dissolve after applying. Also, I had a couple of spots on my face (whiteheads) and it was like rubbing salt into a wound, it burned. I tried to leave it on for a bit but ended up removing it with a wash cloth. The crazy thing is, I woke up with that spot almost gone, and the others look like they cleared up overnight. I can’t decide if I love this or not but may give it another shot.

Earth Wise Beauty Ferns and Moss Face Serum ($24) I tend to have dry skin and it is worse as the weather turns cooler and the air gets drier. This product is meant for those with dry, mature, or damaged skin.

The first ingredient may vary between moringa or andiroba oils, then the rest of the mix contains plant oils and extracts. It is an oily serum and doesn’t spread as easily as some I have tried but it was absorbed quickly afterwards, while some brands just sit on my skin.

There is a touch of oakmoss (which is usually used in perfume making and not usually applied to skin) that gives this a deep, earthy scent. I was very impressed with the brand’s website, which described why each ingredient was used, which skin type it was best for, and they even encouraged visitors to buy a sample bottle first to see if users enjoy “the texture, fragrance, and healing properties” of what is a costly item. I would love to see this brand in future boxes!

Skin is In and all five of the products in the October Vegancuts Beauty Box were for that organ. On a self care day I would start with a smoothie using the mix, wear the mask, follow with the crystals, smooth on the face serum, and then pat on the eye product. I used a quartz roller with the last two items and it was a relaxing before-bed ritual. The value for this assortment was around $112!
