The Curiosity Box is a quarterly subscription box to satisfy your thirst for knowledge. Each box comes with 6-9 items that will not only entertain, but also educate you and your family. The subscription is $49.90 per quarter and a portion of all proceeds are donated to fund Alzheimer’s research.
The bottom of the box also has The Curiosity Box by VSauce branding.

Creator Spotlight Sticker. The sticker illustrates different kinds of scientific formulas and also features Science with Tyler DeWitt!
Tyler DeWitt has hundreds of videos that teach chemistry concepts. The links for his channels are listed at the back!
Artist Spotlight Postcard. This quarter, we received a postcard that features an illustration of the Grand Canyon with a pile of humans on it!
At the back, it explains the image on the postcard!
What if all the people on Earth today suddenly took a vacation to the Grand Canyon? Michael calculated the size of a pile of humans that contained all 7.5+ billion people in the world today, and while it’s pretty amazing, they still don’t come close to filling one of the largest canyons on Earth. Aside from humans, how many things are there? Like, ever in the universe? To find out, check out the Vsauce video “How Many Things Are There?” The answers may surprise you!
Opus Magnum Steam Game. We received an Opus Magnum, a downloadable Steam game! You can build machines of your own design in this game. Your creations will be able to perform different functions using the alchemical engineer’s most advanced tool: The Transmutation Engine!
The game’s features and accessibility are written at the back of the packaging. It works on Windows and Mac OS X.
Useful T-Shirt. This quarter’s featured t-shirt is pretty amazing, as it has scientific formulas and equations on it! The tee is in ladies’ cut, which means it has a defined curve on the waist part.
The quality of the print is great. Also, in case you haven’t noticed, the print is upside down!
It’s actually a great idea! Although the print is upside down from other people’s point of view, it looks completely normal from the wearer’s perspective!
INQ’s Raketti Puzzle. Puzzles are a fun way to exercise the brain. In this box, we received a Raketti Puzzle!
We have the instructions at the back of its box. This is not the usual type of puzzle because we need to solve this without touching it!
The puzzle is made of wood! It may look simple but it’s actually one of the most unique puzzles we’ve seen from this box. We were able to solve it by blowing the top using our strongest force of breath!
Raketti is the Finnish word for rocket!
INQ’s Pen Holder. Here’s a pen holder where we can store our writing materials. It also features INQ!
The box’s design shows INQ holding a pencil and marker.
It’s spacious, so it can accommodate a number of tools, including markers, pens, pencils, and even brushes.
This INQ penholder also makes a great display item for my desk. Those big eyes are also quite adorable!
I also like the bright colors used and the glossy finish of this item. There are even spaces outside the container where we can insert our favorite pens!
INQ’s Pencil Pack. Since we have a new holder, they also sent new pencils in this box. The theme pencils also came with sharpeners!
The packaging is very nice and it even has item information on the back of its top lid.
We received a total of 10 pencils and all of them are The Curiosity Box exclusive!
Each pencil has a different design. Some are marked with inches, while others are in centimeters. There are also pencils that feature molecular carbon inspired designs!
The pencils sharpener is tentacle shaped!
There is also The Curiosity Box branding at the side of the sharpener.
There you go! The pencils and our INQ pen holder looks good together! We can also put the sharpener inside our container because there are still lots of space inside.
The Art Of Curiosity Book. This book contains biographies of 50 visionary people who are changing the way we see our world. I love reading these stories because I learn so much from them!

This book is also interactive! It includes a patterned overlay that we can use on patterns inside the book to experience the optical technique used in Ombro-Cinema. This is a simple animation that was popular in the 1920’s, wherein they make the visuals move by using patterned plastics!
Moving the transparent striped overlay over the image will cause an interaction with the interlaced image. It’s amazing!
Exploratorium’s history was also discussed and how they improved over the years.
We also get to see how the people in this book are connected to each other with their curiosity and interactions.
Juan Felipe Herrera visited the Exploratorium in May 2013 as an Osher Fellow. He spent his time exploring the exhibits and leading poetry workshops. While at the museum he unexpectedly fell in love with plankton, resulting in an exhibit prototype for a Plankton Opera.
Another feature is about Yvonne Cagle. During the 2001 total eclipse, she participated in the Exploratorium’s on-site programming. She answered questions from the public about what it’s like to be an astronaut, the eclipse, and also general astronomy.
Richard Gregory is also featured in the book. He is known for his support for the museum’s work through his advice, lectures, and suggestions for the exhibits. He also became the first invited Exploratorium Osher Fellow.
Saja Amro originally trained as an architect quit her job and now builds exhibitions that tour around Palestine. She also took part in launching the hands-on science studio in Ramallah which is the first of its kind in Palestine!
Another feature in the book is about Pi Day! It discusses the never-ending number, how they came up with Pi Day, and more!
INQ’s Solar Car Kit. Here’s one more fun item in our box, a solar-powered car kit. Well, it can run with the batteries provided but this will be so much fun under the sun!
The back of the box explains how the kit works! It’s nice that we can use this at any time of the day.
The kit comes with an information card. It contains tips on assembling the car and some advisory about the product. They also answered some FAQs.
At the back, there are instructions on how we can assemble our solar car. Each step is very detailed and has a photo of the parts needed.

The Curiosity Box included a bunch of exceptional science-related items in this quarter’s box! My favorite is The Art of Curiosity Book because it’s an informative read. I enjoyed learning about the stories of visionaries! I also liked the exclusive goodies, especially the INQ pen holder and the pencil set. They look great on my desk! This subscription is really perfect for people who have a big interest in science and the likes! The box ships only 4 times a year, but the long wait for each box is always worth it!
