Luxe Box is a quarterly beauty box curated by the same people behind Topbox. The box is $26 with free shipping and is sent out every three months. Luxe Box offers some customization options as boxes are being prepared, usually allowing subscribers to choose a foundation shade or a preference for nail polish, for example.

First look!

Make Up Forever Ultra HD Soft Light Highlighter ($29) — MUFE does fantastic makeup and is favoured by makeup artists because of how well it photographs. This is a lightweight liquid highlighter in the shade Golden Copper. It boasts a formula that has a softening blurring effect and doesn’t feel sticky. MUFE products aren’t cruelty-free so I didn’t keep this for myself, but the golden copper colour is absolutely beautiful and can be mixed into foundation for a soft glowing complexion.

Mission Luxereve Sample Set — This is a subbrand of the MLM Avon. The focus on this line is fermented ingredients that have a high quantity of antioxidants due to the fermentation process. Their website doesn’t include an ingredients list, so I’m unsure what else is included. Avon products are not cruelty-free, and I’m against MLMs in general, so these will be passed on to someone who can use them. The sample sizes are actually quite generous!

Hikari Shimmer Bronzer ($21) — I’ve got a few of the Hikari bronzers floating around in various shades and they are pretty decent for adding a glow. You can use each shade individually or do what I do and swirl your brush over everything for a nice blended glow. This quad is called Radiate and has a coral blush and three bronze shades with two shimmers and one that is more matte. This one is a little too warm toned for my pink undertones, but their other quad Flush is more suited to me.

Kerastase Resistance Heat Protector — A treatment to add to the hair before styling with heated tools. Kerastase’s Resistance line is formulated to reconstruct and repair the internal hair fiber as well as the outer protective layer.

Delia Organics The Pout Lip Creme ($25.99 CAD) — A creamy, dreamy lip creme with almond oil and peppermint. This left my lips feeling soooo soft and hydrated with a little tingle from the mint.

Pretty Woman Polish ($8.99) — Feeling Rather Beachy is from the recent summer collection and is a gorgeous shimmery blue colour. Pretty Woman polishes are cruelty-free!

Maskeraide Matcha Mask Set ($8 CAD) — This is a matcha clay mask that I’ve never tried before. Matcha is a powerful antibacterial so it’s great for acne. The package has three individually packaged doses of the mask, which is great!

The Fall Luxe Box was a pretty big disappointment for me as a cruelty-free consumer. The high-value items were the MUFE highlighter and the Avon samples, neither of which I will use. Luxe Box has been fluctuating between AMAZING boxes will all full-size products, and boxes which are mostly samples. In that regard, this box is somewhere in the middle with four full-size products. It’s great to see a Canadian brand like Delia Organics pop up!
