Dollar Tea Club is a monthly subscription that sends loose-leaf teas in an amount that works for you. They have a few different plans to choose from and all of the teas are made without artificial flavors. The teas are ethically sourced through direct trade, which means better quality tea while knowing the farmers are paid reasonable wages and treated with respect.

Hate waiting in line just to get your name spelled wrong? We’re on a journey to make exploring new tea blends fun for everyone.. yes, even coffee drinkers.

Warning: Delicious blends inside!

Everything in my recyclable mailer! I am reviewing The Explorer plan, which is $1 for 3 samples of tea, which is enough for 6-8 cups. Shipping is extra. They offer two other plans: The Sensei and The Sommelier. Both plans include filters, a strainer with your first order, and varying amounts of tea based on which plan you choose.

The front of the bag shows info such as ingredients, tea type, steeping time, and water temperature. It says this is a fruit tea but I would classify it as a black tea, and it has caffeine.

Berry Merlot Tea I was surprised at the scent and taste that came from this tea after steeping, it was indeed full bodied and wine-like! It was astringent from both the black tea and hibiscus. I added lots of sugar but it still needed something to tame the pucker and I made the mistake of adding milk. It instantly curdled in the cup and had to be dumped. Milk and an acid (like lemon or hibiscus) do not mix at all and I accidentally made buttermilk berry tea. I like the suggestion to serve this iced, and will make sure to add lots of sugar (and no milk!) so that it’s almost like punch! Dollar Tea Club gets bonus points for sending a tea with immune-boosting elderberries this month.

Cool Cucumber Tea Doesn’t that slice of cucumber look so cool? Don’t worry, this tea doesn’t taste like pickles but it does taste like watermelon! It was very refreshing and I added some sugar so it tasted like candy. This would be lovely over ice.

Ginger Peach I thought it was interesting that this flavor was inspired by chutney! It has a rooibos base along with ginger, blackberry leaves, and calendula petals. The ginger wasn’t strong but the peach was lovely.

Dollar Tea Club always sends unique teas and they are so delicious! The Berry Merlot had the most amazing scent, Cool Cucumber was perfect for a hot day, and Ginger Peach was a relaxing after dinner sip and was full of fruity flavors. If you love your teas you can order more on the Dollar Tea Club website, plus they have honey sticks and other extras available too.
