Packed with snacks! I received a card that told me proceeds from this box will go to the animals at Mountain View Sanctuary! The theme for the August Box was Summer Salty Sweets & Heats! The bottom of the card says that substitutions may be made. Looking good! Everything in my box! Ka-Pop! Sriracha Puffs came in a big bag which says it’s enough for 4 servings but probably more like 8. It’s similar to a puffy cheeto but the flavor is out of this world! It is very similar to snacks I get from Japan, but those usually have seafood and these are vegan. It has that amazing spicy/umami/sweet flavor that I usually don’t find in American snacks. I can’t wait for my husband to try these, he will love them too! Route 11 Potato Chips Lightly Salted I don’t normally reach for potato chips as a snack, but I will serve them with a sandwich occasionally. To me, the best part of the chip is how it gets the dip from the plate into my mouth. This is a nice portion controlled pack so it would work well in a lunchbox. Homefree Organic Ginger Snap Mini Cookies I thought these gingersnaps were extra snappy, they warmed my mouth up when I tried them. They remind me of ‘Nilla Wafers and they are gluten free. When did gluten free stuff start tasting so good? Gogo Big Squeeze Fruit On The Go My younger daughter is practically an adult but she promptly placed these in the fridge and enjoyed her snacks. I asked her about them and she said they are applesauce pouches but these are actually a little bigger than the traditional pouches, perfect for older kids. Go Big Blood Orange Ginger Energy Drink Let me start by saying that I don’t drink energy drinks, have never even tried Monster, and the most caffeine I have in one sitting is from whatever is in black tea (about 50mg). This shot has 200mg, even more than Monster and almost double that of Red Bull. If you have heart or blood pressure problems then please avoid. The caffeine in this drink comes from guarana, a plant from the Amazon. Raw Rev Glo Protein Bar ($4) We received two flavors of this plant-based protein bar. My daughter wanted to try the Birthday Cake flavor first, since she has tried some of the other flavors and really likes this brand. The bar was oily, which she hadn’t experienced before. I tried it and thought the flavor was good, it was chewy, and the overall take is that it reminds me of thick cookie batter. Here’s the Birthday Cake version. I’m guessing the extreme heat probably liquefied some of the oils during shipping but otherwise it was fine. Hungry Buddha Coconut Cocoa Keto Bar Sometimes I try my snacks without first reading the label so I knew after the first bite that this had either stevia or monkfruit (it was monkfruit). Before that I liked the coconut and the texture wasn’t too bad, kind of chewy of course. I gave the rest to my daughter and she wanted to know where she could get more! It just goes to show that taste is subjective, and while it was a miss for me, my daughter couldn’t get enough. Frooze Balls in Peanut Butter & Jelly These were very tasty, I like a fruit and nut ball. It has that LARABAR type of date base and there is shredded coconut on the outside. The inside has both peanut butter and a super sweet fruit jelly. I think I would prefer them without the filling but that’s just me. They also have a Dark Forest flavor with cherries and cocoa and now I really need to try that version! Bakery On Main Extreme Nut & Fruit Gluten-Free Granola I know this is called granola but it’s really a flake type of cereal with a couple of nuts and raisins. There was lots of crunch and the fruit was soft and chewy. I ate it out of the bag like trail mix. The Vegancuts Snack Box for August had a good assortment, such as sweet, salty, spicy, and chewy. My older daughter especially liked the bars this month while my younger daughter was excited to get two applesauce pouches. My favorite was the Ka-Pop puffs, so yummy, but the Frooze Balls were also tasty. There was something for everyone in my home and I appreciate the variety and overall family friendliness of the snacks!
