Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription. You get five makeup, beauty, skincare, and hair care items in a cute bag for $12 a month! It’s the most popular subscription box and a great way to sample new colors and beauty brands that you may have never heard of, as well as some of the bigger names. Ipsy also offers a Glam Bag Plus for $25 a month and Glam Bag Ultimate for $50 a month.

IPSY was founded on a singular mission: to inspire individuals around the world to express their unique beauty. Everything we do is to support you on your journey to self-discovery, so you’ll feel confident letting your unique beauty shine every day.

Most of my items were inside the cute makeup bag but make sure to double check the mailing bag, sometimes larger items (like makeup brushes) can be found there.

The theme for August is The Future is Yours!

Inside Ipsy listed 3 newer ingredients that sound futuristic but are available in the here and now.

Don’t forget that you can rate your items and you earn bonus points when you do that, so you can get additional products in your bag. All subscribers now have the chance to pick a product for their next bag – just log in on choice day and pick one!

Everything in my box! Some of the items came in their own boxes, but you can find instructions for use and ingredients on the Ipsy app and website.

Ipsy Glambag Ipsy sends some super cute bags and this month it is a silver bag with an iridescent/oil-slick rainbow holographic design.

The future is bright, shiny, and new—just like this month’s futuristic holographic finish. Look inside and see what kind of beauty tomorrow holds for you.

The zipper pull is silver and says Ipsy.

The inside is lined with grey polyester fabric. The outside should be easy to wipe clean. The bag is 7.25″ x 5″.

IBY Beauty Eyeshadow in Flower Child (Travel size, $5? Can be found in this palette) I received an eyeshadow single from the Super Bloom palette. IBY sells shadow singles for $5, but they don’t list this color and they don’t list the size.

Flower Child is described as “sheer light gold shimmer/glitter”.

I used it as a base from my lid up to my eyebrows. I used my finger to apply it, I feel like shimmery shadows have less fall out and stick better when I do that. The shade was to my liking and wasn’t super glittery, it worked well for my needs. Swatched below.

Moda Neon Angle Blush (Full size, $19.99 listed value) I couldn’t find this brush for sale anywhere, but I discovered that it is made by Royal & Langnickel, and that they also make art brushes! I found a similar brush by the same brand for much lower, only $7.99, and it can be found here.

The bristles are synthetic and I like the bright blue color of the handle, plus the tops of the bristles are blue too! The brush can be used to apply highlight, blush, or contour and Ipsy suggests using it to set under eye makeup. The bristles are very soft and I preferred using it for contour, because I need a light hand when it comes to that product and this brush worked well for me because it isn’t dense.

GLAMGLOW Brighteyes Illuminating Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream (Travel size, $6.40) I love to try eye creams, although mainly for the feeling it gives this delicate area. I am not one who falls for extravagant promises of age reversal, but I do like to keep that area moist!

Peptides, caffeine, and hyaluronic acid are some of the soothers and hydrators in here. I also spied shea butter on the list and was happy to not see fragrance listed. Instructions say to apply twice a day but I was surprised to see shimmery mica when I put it on at night. I don’t really need mica in that area while I sleep so I will use this in the morning from now on. It is soothing and doesn’t take much to leave the area smooth, but has dimethicone so it doesn’t feel greasy.

Kiss & Smink Matte Cream Lip Crayon in Tavarua (Full size? $20) I believe this is full sized. The brand’s website doesn’t have much info, but based on pictures from the site it looks the same, and even has a removable sharpener on the end in case you want to use this a liner.

The shade is described as nude-pink and while it’s lighter than what I would choose for myself, it doesn’t look bad with my coloring. It feels soft on my lips and although it’s kind of opaque, it doesn’t look patchy. Swatched below.

Lottie London AM to PM Eyeliner in Espresso (Find similar item here, $1.48 value) Yay for a non-black eyeliner! I was pretty happy to see a brown liner, and really liked this brand! Plus, I prefer pencil over a liquid liner every time.

I keep forgetting to check when unboxing but the bottom of this liner has a pull-out sharpener.

Ok, it looks funky but it worked really well. I used it with the eye shadow and lippie that came in this bag to come up with an early fall look. The liner went on easily and stayed on all day.

Swatched from top is the shadow, liner, and lippie. The lip crayon didn’t look like that on my lips at all, more of a muted nude.

I was very pleased with my August Ipsy Glam Bag! It was makeup heavy this time around – three products to apply to enhance my features. The eye cream was almost a makeup item, with the shimmer it provides to hide dark circles. The last item was a brush and that is of course to apply makeup to my face! I couldn’t nail down exact prices and the value for the liner seems low while the value for the brush seems high. Keep in mind that Ipsy sends out a wide variety of products every month in different combos, 64 products for the Glam Bag alone for the month of August!
