CoachCrate is a monthly coaching box that is carefully cultivated around a different theme, topic, or area of personal growth. The products sent help promote and challenge your growth in that area! CoachCrate is $45 a month and includes a book, a related study guide, and 3-6 items that include products from the beauty and wellness categories.

  • Monthly Coaching Breakdown: Your growth plan for the month!
  • Book with Reading Guide: Our reading guide provides tips, tricks, and suggestions while working through the book of the month. We also provide questions to expand and grow upon what you are reading! (It’s like a book club in a guide!)
  • 2 to 4 Exclusive Recorded Online Coaching Videos(s): These recorded videos provide coaching and a platform to connect, ask questions, and push past your comfort zone. Since the sessions are pre-recorded you have the ability to watch and re-watch whenever your schedule allows it!
  • 3-6 Productivity, Relaxation, Growth, and Well-Being Items: Every month we choose products that help you relax, grow, organize, and do this whole “out of the comfort zone” thing a little bit easier. All products are in alignment with the theme or area of focus for that month. Quality is important to us. We do our best to fill your crate with products you will use and adore.
  • Additional Coaching Content: This could be in the form of a live group coaching call, worksheets and exercises, audio files, and more!

First peek!

The inside lid had a guide to what I would find in my box. It also mentioned next month’s topic: PATH & PURPOSE.

The items were tucked into shredded paper squiggles. This box was also very heavy thanks to one of the items.

Everything in my box!

The theme for August is BURNOUT.

The back of the card told me what we are focusing on this month. It also pointed out that this is a coaching box. There is so much content online from CoachCrate and they help you work through the book and activities. I suggest watching the monthly/weekly videos because they help reinforce the strategies for the theme.

This is my first time trying CoachCrate so I received a card telling me where to start so I can get the most out of my membership.

The Monthly Breakdown card has a handy calendar so you can check off the days as you complete the activities. There are weekly checklists too.

Each CoachCrate comes with an Unofficial Book Guide that is produced by CoachCrate.

Here is the table of contents and a 54-page guide means a lot of work has gone into this book!

A welcome and introduction was next.

Each chapter had a few pages…

…that included a checklist and exercises. I must say I believe this is the most comprehensive companion booklet I’ve ever received in a box!

This sheet is for keeping track of breakthroughs and actions. It is double sided.

Burnout to Breakthrough by Eileen McDargh ($17.95) The book sent is a recent one, and was published just this month! I’ve already read the first 3 chapters and while I feel like it is especially helpful for those employed outside the home, I really think that anyone can suffer from burnout, even a homemaker. After I finish this book I’m turning it over to my daughter, who works full-time while going to grad school. She needs this advice too!

“Eileen delivers a new perspective on the burnout crisis with humor, good sense, and unique ideas on how to manage our brains. I owe my daily well-being to her. Keep this book at your side to help you glide through your workday.” –Marcia Reynolds, PsyD, author of The Discomfort Zone

It’s official. For the first time, the World Health Organization has classified burnout as a health problem. Renowned motivational speaker Eileen McDargh proposes that to tackle it, we must learn to break out of energy-draining thoughts and behaviors.

Resilience, she argues, is strictly a matter of energy management–by better managing your energy, you can both build resiliency and overcome burnout. Breakthrough happens when our energy is consciously distributed to what matters most in our lives. So after a short survey that will tell you where you fit in a burnout and resiliency profile, McDargh helps pinpoint the causes of your burnout and examine the energy demands that keep you from refueling and recharging. She provides an in-depth energy analysis and gives you the keys to master the four dimensions that can give you a resilience breakthrough: head, heart, hands, and humor.

McDargh guides the reader through the process of identifying energy drains and implementing strategies for handling them, whatever phase of life you are in. Her intention is to help you not only to successfully manage work and life demands but also make even larger strides in understanding how to put together a life by design and not by default.

Resilience is an ability everyone can use.

Here’s a random page. The chapters are pretty easy to read and are broken up into chunks that I can read here and there throughout the day.

Next we have a Stress Tracker.

The inside cover tells you how to use the tracker.

There are about 50 pages in this booklet, and each one has space for 3 stressors. You can also write on the back; break down the actions you need to deal with the stressor.

Our next item came in a holder that reminds me of a bag for sunglasses!

Inside was the Burnout Recovery Deck.

The first card had instructions on how to use the deck.

Each of the 31 cards has a question to ask yourself and then you can reflect on the answer. Use the mantra to fix it in your mind.

Dirty Lamb Turkish Coffee Mask ($44) CoachCrate sent a couple of wellness items and the first is this coffee face mask.

Ingredients include ground coffee, coconut oil, turmeric, cardamom, and mint.

The idea is to use this a couple of times of week as a way to focus on yourself. Apply to skin and take a deep breath and relax while this mask sits for a few minutes. I’ve tried this mask before and I think the grains are too coarse for my sensitive skin, but guess what? It also works as a body scrub in the shower!

The turmeric is anti-inflammatory and this mask claims to help treat acne, blackheads, and even eczema. I don’t know about all that but it leaves my arms and legs soft and smooth afterwards!

Rest & Recharge Sleep Mask I am half tempted to wear this as a face mask! It’s a thin padded mask that can be worn over the eyes to block out light, perhaps leading to better sleep.

It has two thin straps in the back that are effective at keeping it on my head. I appreciate that the video mentioned that not everyone wants to sleep with a mask on, but they also stated that it can be used during a nap or even as a way to just block everything out, if only for a few minutes. Just place over the eyes and meditate for a bit while taking a sensory break. Bonus points if you have a diffuser or candle nearby.

I was very impressed with my very first box from CoachCrate! I have received similar boxes before but the companion book and items were really tuned into the theme and I am excited to continue reading the book and working through the Burnout Recovery Deck. The online video content was also short, sweet, and to the point. I didn’t see anything over maybe 8 minutes yet the videos had everything I needed to know. I feel like a lot of thought and work went into the making of the box and companion items. It didn’t say “well how did that make you feel?”. Instead it gave me concrete steps to take (and in some cases I had to figure them out on my own!) to help move closer to my goals. A lot of the value in this box comes from the online support and peer community and you get access to all of that after purchasing the subscription. If you are someone who likes to keep track (hello, planner friends!) then there are all kinds of checklists and places to mark accountability.

NOTE: September’s theme is Path & Purpose and ships near the end of August. You can also find past boxes in their online store.
