Luxe Box is a quarterly beauty box curated by the same people behind Topbox. The box is $26 with free shipping and is sent out every three months. Luxe Box offers some customization options as boxes are being prepared, usually allowing subscribers to choose a foundation shade or a preference for nail polish, for example.

First look!

Shea Moisture African Black Soap Soothing Body Lotion — African black soap is a traditional soap cleansing method best suited for oily skin. Palm ash, tamarind extract, tar, and plantain peel are ingredients I never would have pictured being good for the skin, but Shea Moisture has made it accessible for everyone to use. It’s especially good for troubled skin. The body lotion uses these ingredients as well as shea butter to moisturize.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair ($18 USD) — Estee Lauder’s night treatment has won awards for its effectiveness! Anti-oxidants are a very popular ingredient for protecting skin from damaging effects such as pollution and weather, and hyaluronic acid keeps skin dewy and looking fresh!

Smashbox Vitamin Glow Primer — Smashbox has a new primer out on the market and this one is infused with Vitamin B, C, and E to promote a healthy, glowing base for beneath your makeup. It has a lavender and citrus scent which was actually quite strong and I personally would prefer without, but it applied smoothly to my skin over my sunscreen and my powder and cream products blended well over it. Right now wearing a mask I need a good primer to help keep my blush and highlighter on, and this primer performed pretty well!

Pure Cosmetics Refine & Perfect Finishing Powder ($40 USD) — A combination of four correcting finishing powders you can use together or separate to keep skin looking even and smooth with a matte finish. I’m a fan of using green to tone down the redness on my cheeks.

LaRitzy Waterproof Eyeliner — LaRitzy’s waterproof liner is a great long-lasting formula that applies evenly without any skipping or smudging. I’ve got sooo many black liners on the go that this will be a much-needed backup, but it’s always great to see this brand in a box! I couldn’t find this product on their website so it may be discontinued… I hope not, because it’s a fave!

Medusa’s Makeup Matte Liquid Lipstick ($11.95) — MM has their own monthly subscription box that we review here but this is my first time trying one of their lipsticks. Unfortunately the colour called Shag isn’t my shade but I think it’s perfect for summer!

Morgan Taylor Nail Polish — No Filter Needed is a creamy blue green that is great for summer. Normally I don’t do my own nails, but with salons closed and my nails growing quickly I might have to do my own manicure!

The summer box had some nice full sized products but I personally was a bit bored and didn’t find too much to get excited about — the eyeliner and the primer were definitely the highlights. I think the colours they picked were perfect for summer, and with flip flop season in full swing the nail polish was a great item to include! It just was a bit underwhelming for me but I think the value is definitely there.
