 MasterClass Workbook – Kelly Wearstler

If you are looking to improve your design foundations or just looking for inspiration, the workbook is a great addition to the course. The workbook has a review of all of the lessons in the class. Along with these reviews, is a few assignments which focus on finding certain things in your own home that speak to the topic of each lesson. Kelly has also created a “Put Into Practice” section where she encourages viewers to assemble these objects and find new ones to place into vibe trays, which she uses in the class to experiment with many different materials. While the lessons are geared towards viewers who are looking to design a new space, the workbook does provide a few assignments which focus on finding inspirations in your own home.

MasterClass Interior Design Key Takeaways

Kelly Wearstler has created an in depth class that is focused on finding inspiration and your own voice as a designer. She uses the fundamentals of interior design to encourage viewers to keep learning new techniques, while also inspiring viewers to break boundaries and try something new.

Take something and give it a new spirit. Break some rules along the way.

Kelly also talks about how she became an interior designer and is still discovering her voice. What I found most helpful from this lesson was how she talked about some of her first projects. When she first started she was was working for clients with a budget, while this created new challenges it also inspired her to be more creative with her designs. She talks about how every morning she would wake up early and go to the flea market to explore everything it has to offer, whether that be an amazing find or just purely for inspiration.

Enjoy the journey. It gets stressful sometimes, but enjoy the process.
