Butcher Box is a subscription box service that delivers premium quality meat for $129 per month. Each box comes with a selection of meat (about 15-20 meals worth) that has been carefully cut and prepared. The Butcher Box brings back that unique experience you get when you visit your local butcher shop. Their specialty is 100% grass-fed beef, but they also provided mixed subscription options. You can also have the box delivered every two or three months depending on your needs.

For this review, we’re featuring some of the dishes we made using our items from Butcher Box. This is different from our regular Butcher Box reviews! We hope it gives you some great ideas what to make with your Butcher Box goodies!

Because of COVID-19, there’s a waitlist for ButcherBox, and no current coupons. They’re focusing on existing subscription customers, so we encourage you to sign up for the waitlist if you’re interested in this subscription.

First up, we broke out some pork chops from the January 2020 Butcher Box!

These aren’t the leathery pork chops your grandmother made — these are thick, meaty, and boneless.

They turn out tender and delicious whether grilled, baked, or pan-fried. We decided to make Cheesy Pork Chops with ours!

We pan-fried these briefly, finishing them in a slow oven. They are rubbed with a little paprika, brown sugar, salt, and pepper prior to frying. After a few minutes in the oven, we hit them with some mild shredded cheese.

A little cheese on top makes these chops very kid-friendly.

We cook our pork medium-well since everyone likes it that way.

Some scalloped potatoes and green beans round out the plate for an easy and hearty meal.

The Butcher Box chops stay moist and tender without any fuss!

Next up are Sirloin Tips from the January 2020 Butcher Box! I love these for all kinds of recipes. They are a tender cut of meat, so they make a great secret weapon for quickly putting together any kind of stew or chili, guaranteeing tender meat regardless of cooking time.

The sirloin tips are perfect for making Teriyaki Beef Noodles. I marinated these quickly in a teriyaki sauce and then pan-braised them. I tossed some noodles in the pan to soak up the juices and fried them up until crispy.

This was a super-easy way to get a filling meal on the table. There are some shredded carrot and onion in there, but this dish is all about the beef and noodles.

Butcher Box Pork Breakfast Sausage is pre-seasoned with sage, so it is perfect for breakfast applications or for putting in stuffings. These sausages were from our November 2019 Butcher Box!

I fried it up in a pan and then used it as filling in an omelet.

A little bit of cheese, onion, tomato, and green pepper make this a complete dish.

Yum!

I love getting my Ground Beef for Life, because it gives me tons of opportunity for trying out new burger recipes!

This month, I used the ground beef to make Patty Melt with Sauerkraut. This is simply ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper, pan-fried medium rare, and topped with cheese, mustard, and a pile of kraut. I had some leftover baked potato, so I chopped them up and made some smoky paprika-laden homefries as a side.

Nothing quite as easy, satisfying, and versatile as a burger!

I love the Butcher Box Baby Back Ribs! With very little effort, you can turn out ribs better than any chain restaurant can serve up. This one is from the January 2020 Butcher Box!

These Oven-Baked Baby Back Ribs were rubbed with cumin, garlic, paprika, brown sugar, and whatever else I feel like throwing in, then wrapped in foil and baked slow.

They always turn out great!

Next up is Bottom Round Roast, also from the January 2020 Butcher Box!

It contains less fat but produces a ton of flavor!

The beef is cooked in an Instantpot with some enchilada sauce.

You just have to make sure that all sides get browned. Our pot roast came out quite flavorful!

It was easy to shred because the beef was so tender.

After shredding, it’s ready to eat or to put in another dish!

We used the shredded beef for our Chili Colorado Enchiladas. We wrapped them up in tortillas and added cheese!

These are tangy and meaty! Every bite was satisfying!

Here’s a closer look at our enchilada!

Here are more packs of ground beef from Butcher Box, which we used for making meatloaf!

We mixed the ground beef with some egg, onion, and oatmeal, then baked.

A traditional ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar glaze added halfway through cooking finishes the dish.

The meatloaf was evenly cooked and it was also pretty moist!

Here’s another pack of ground beef!

This time, we made Albondigas (Mexican Meatball Soup) and Potatas Bravas.

These are simply meatballs like their Italian-American cousins, but they are made with cooked rice instead of breading as a binder, and they are cooked in a light tomato-based soup instead of a tomato sauce.

Using the second pack of sirloin tips from the January 2020 Butcher Box, we made beef stew!

It’s a fairly traditional stew, but I added some turnips along with the regular potato and carrot, as well as using some raisins for sweetness.

What a warm and hearty meal! It’s definitely a great comfort food!

More ground beef! We never run out of ways to cook them, and this time, we made Cheeseburger Pie!

This easy classic makes use of beef, eggs, cheese, onion, milk, and some baking mix. It’s impossibly easy to make.

This pie is best served with homefries as a side!

These Chicken Drumsticks are from the February 2020 Butcher Box! They’re non-GMO and antibiotic-free. We used them for making Easy Breaded Chicken.

We just tossed these drumsticks in a bag with some seasoned bread crumbs, then baked on a rack.

These chicken drumsticks were crunchy and tasty!

They are perfect for a quick dinner fix!

Served with some roast potatoes and coleslaw, it makes a tasty meal and a big hit with the kids!

Here’s yet another pack of Butcher Box ground beef! This time, we used it for Beef in Cream Gravy with Pearl Onions, Peas, and Rice.

The sauce was creamy and the beef was tender!

The gravy is seasoned with some crushed rosemary.

The meat we receive from Butcher Box are always fresh and high-quality, which makes us more excited to cook new recipes and old favorites using them! We find their beef, pork, and chicken cuts convenient because everything is portioned perfectly. They definitely save us time when preparing and cooking our meals. The meat cuts are even antibiotic and hormone-free, giving us less things to worry about. The dishes we cooked this month using our meat supplies from Butcher Box were a hit with my family, even with the kids. Many of these recipes are pretty easy to cook, like the breaded chicken and patty melts. If you’re a meat lover, this subscription is one of the best ways to get your monthly supply of meats for cooking. You can even customize your own box or simply choose a curated box!
