This is a review of the All Beef Box. Our box this month includes ground beef for life (2 pounds!) and wings for life (2 pounds!). We also have add-ons: bacon!

Because of COVID-19, there’s a waitlist for ButcherBox, and no current coupons. They’re focusing on existing subscription customers, so we encourage you to sign up for the waitlist if you’re interested in this subscription.

Here’s a list of what we got this month!

We’ve always had everything arrive rock-solid, so there have been no issues with temperature control during shipping. The meat arrives ready to throw in the freezer or thaw for use.

All the meats are vacuum-sealed in plastic, packed in an insulated bag, and then kept frozen within the outer soft-side cooler padding and box with a large dry ice pack.

According to this part of the box, the packaging is made using eco-friendly and 100% recyclable materials.

Everything is portioned to a manageable size, so you can pull it from the freezer as needed without thawing more than you want.

Everything in my May 2020 box!

There are a couple of big roasts, but everything else is portioned smaller.

This month’s box includes an extra pack of chicken party wings, applewood smoked uncured bacon, and ground beef! We added on, in addition to our ground beef for life, a combo pack of ground beef and bacon.

Farmer Focus Chicken Party Wings. We got 3 packs of premium hand-cut, hormone-free, and steroid-free chicken party wings sourced from non-GMO and USDA-certified organic chickens!

Each pack contains 7 to 10 pieces of meaty chicken wings which are both great for frying and barbecue. Simply coat it with a variety of sauces for extra taste!

Applewood Smoked Uncured Bacon. Our all-time favorite! This bacon is smoked over real hardwood with only salt and cultured celery powder as an extra ingredient. It doesn’t contain sugar, yet it still provides an irresistibly sweet and smoky flavor!

Featured at the back of the pack are the different techniques on how to cook this smoked bacon. They can either be microwaved, put in a broiler, or baked in an oven. It’s also certified to be gluten-free, non-GMO, and paleo-friendly.

Grass-Fed Ground Beef. This grass-fed ground beef consists of 85% lean meat and 15% fat! It’s a staple in our box because we have free ground beef for life!

It’s juicy and meaty is perfect to use as burger patties and also ideal for grilling cause it won’t flare up much when cooked.

Also in this month’s box are packs of grass-fed top round steak, beef stew meat, eye-round roast, strip loin steak, and ground beef.

Grass-Fed Beef Top Round Steak. This meat is sourced from the rear leg part of the cow. It features a lean cut with moderate toughness and little to none fat.

It is commonly prepared with a slow moist-heat method such as braising to tenderize the meat while maintaining its moisture. When sliced thinly, this cut is also dried or smoked to make a jerky.

Grass-Fed Beef Stew Meat. Here’s the cut of meat that’s perfect for making stew! This beef is diced perfectly.

These tender meats are flavorful. Aside from stews, you can use this for making Texas-style beef chili and Asian-style beef with veggies.

Grass-Fed Eye-Round Roast. It’s a boneless low-fat eye round cut meat sourced from the lean and active beef muscle, meaning it contains lesser fat and produces a ton of flavor!

This portion of beef is so meaty, making it the most ideal cut for marinating, grilling, or even pot roast dishes.

Grass-Fed Beef Strip Loin Steak. This cut of beef is also known as the top sirloin, which is taken from the top of the rump part of the cow. It’s a triangular cut with a fine layer of fat and tenderness!

Sirloin cap meat is normally used as a small roast, but since it’s so versatile, it can also be a primary ingredient for other delectable dishes as well!

Ground Beef. We also have here another set of 4 separately packed grass-fed ground beef.  One of these packs should have been in our add-ons pic above. The price of the box included one of these packs.

Aside from burger patties, these ground beefs are also perfect for casserole dishes!

Butcher Box is truly an excellent subscription for meat lovers. You may find it a little pricey, but the quality of each and every meat makes this subscription totally worth it. Every box comes with 7 – 10 lbs of high-grade meat which is ideal for a small family like ours. It works out to be about $6.50 per portion for the meat – and there is no difference in cost between getting all grass-fed beef or mixing them with organic chicken or even heritage pork. I really appreciate how the meats were delivered and arrived frozen, and was portioned into manageable sized cuts that make them easy to portion out over time. Seeing the convenience, top-notch meat, and excellent service, this subscription definitely deserves a double thumbs up!
