Beauty Heroes is a healthy beauty discovery service. They send a full-size Hero product in every box, plus a Sidekick trial-size. Sometimes, they send more than one Hero or Sidekick, depending on the featured brand. Boxes are often over $100 in total value. Beauty Heroes members also receive a 15% discount in the Beauty Store, insider exclusives, and early access to new product launches. They currently offer 1-, 3-, 6-, and 12-month membership subscriptions. Here are the prices:
- 1-month – $58.95 ($58.95/month)
- 3-months – $125.80 ($42.95/month)
- 6-months – $239.70 ($39.95/month)
- 12-months – $455.50 ($37.95/month)
The items came in a simple white box with Beauty Heroes branding.
As always, everything is neatly packed inside.
There’s also a tissue paper secured with a sticker.
The items were cushioned with white squiggles.
For this month, the featured brand is Bathing Culture!
There’s a lot to discover about this brand and they are all indicated at the back of the card! Usually, Beauty Heroes incorporates products from previous months to provide updated rituals. Your ritual can change monthly with the seasons and with new products – I absolutely love this feature.
Aside from the card, there’s a booklet that tells us more about this month’s products and the featured brand.
As usual, it’s jampacked with useful information. There’s also a notice that Beauty Heroes Members save 15% every day in the Beauty Store.
The booklet comes with an item photo, plus a brief description and a reason why they chose to include it in the curation.
The items were wrapped properly to avoid breakage.
Everything in the May 2020 Beauty Heroes box!
Bathing Culture Golden Hour Hydrosol ($20) It’s a face and body mist, made with a blend of Moroccan neroli flower oil and Turkish rose. Packaged in a travel-friendly spray bottle, it’s easy to stash in your bag and take with you in your summer adventures.
It smells refreshing! It’s perfect as a toner or even just for refreshing your skin after sun exposure.
This product is carbon-neutral, vegan, cruelty-free, and biodegradable as well.
Bathing Culture Outer Being Face & Body Oil ($82) This face and body oil is made with plant-based ingredients. Aside from providing intense moisture, it also comes with solar restorative and anti-inflammatory properties. It comes in a pump bottle that makes it easy to control how much oil you get.
This oil makes a perfect partner with the Bathing Culture face and body mist, as it helps lock in the moisture in the skin.
It’s ideally used on damp skin for best results. The oil was not as heavy as we expected it to be. Another thing I like about it is that all ingredients used are certified organic!
Bathing Culture Mind & Body Wash ($35) Here’s another all-organic item, an all-purpose liquid soap! I love that Beauty Heroes sent the refillable bottle (which I will refill after this is up with other products – I think the design is super cute!).
Its scent is called Cathedral Grove, which is really intoxicating! It includes balsam, vetiver, ylang ylang, ho wood, and frankincense. Definitely not a floral scent and definitely unisex (in a good way – it didn’t smell like “man scent”). What I love about the formula though is that it lathers really well and it’s gentle on the skin.
Ingredients include coconut oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, aloe vera, shea butter, and rosemary extract.
The pump bottle is reusable and refillable, so it’s earth-friendly as well. This box arrived very late in the month, but it was a COVID-19 related issue (they couldn’t source the pumps). Since it’s a real pain to use this body wash without the pump, I was glad they waited. The pump is usually white. Bathing Culture has a refill program, but I will never find that in my middle of nowhere town.
Beauty Heroes introduces us to new healthy beauty brands monthly and I couldn’t be happier to get to try such skin-friendly products. This month, I got a mist, a body oil, and a liquid soap, and they were all promising. They even complement each other so using them in one routine is great. All in all, the box’s total retail value is $132! It’s awesome because I only had to pay a fraction of the price!
