Dessert by Deb Lemon Coconut Pie Black Tea I always try the black teas first, and this month’s flavor is inspired by dessert! Amoda puts the necessary info on the front of the bag such as amount of tea to use, water temperature, and ingredients. I’m glad I double checked before steeping, because this brand said to use 2 teaspoons of tea, so that’s what I did.
Coconut, lemon peel, and vanilla join black tea in this blend and even though I used two teaspoons of tea, it still ended up being very mildly flavored. I added sugar and a bit of milk and really enjoyed the light lemon floral flavor. It doesn’t taste like coconut but it was so good, more like a cookie. I bet it would be great served with shortbread cookies.
Teadore Out Of Order Green Tea is a wellness tea for those who might be suffering the effects of a cold. Echinacea and elderberries are supposed to support the immune system.
Green tea forms the base of this tea and lemon peel and mint make it refreshing, although the flavor is very mild. St. John’s Wort is the last ingredient, but double check if you are taking medications because it can cause the meds to be less effective.
The Octavia Tea Company Blood Orange White Tea White tea has less caffeine than green tea although this one looks very similar in color to green.
It has blood orange and tangerine essential oils to give it flavor but those were a little strong for me. I think I prefer a lighter citrus flavor but if you like a bold cup of orange tea then this might be the one for you!
The Octavia Tea Company Berries & Cream Rooibos I liked the description of this tea – like cake with berries and cream! The base is rooibos, which is caffeine-free and makes for a hearty herbal infusion.
Dried berries join the rooibos and hibiscus gives it a cranberry-like tang. I added a bit of sugar and enjoyed it in the evening, it satisfied my sweet tooth with its berry and vanilla flavor. So good!
Amoda is a great way to explore blended teas and I so appreciate that there is a new brand featured in every box, along with others that rotate from month to month. I also like that they send varying levels of caffeine, different types of tea (black, green, white), and an herbal. The included disposable bags make it easy to steep in a cup.
