The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown ($5.98)

Celebrating 75 years, The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown, beloved children’s book author of Goodnight Moon.

“If you run away,” said his mother, “I will run after you. For you are my little bunny.”

A little bunny keeps running away from his mother in this imaginary game of hide-and-seek. Children will be profoundly comforted by this lovingly steadfast mother who finds her child every time.

The Runaway Bunny, first published in 1942 and never out of print, has indeed become a classic. Generations of readers have fallen in love with the gentle magic of its reassuring words and loving pictures.

This one is a great read for Mother’s Day, as it features a cute and heartwarming story of a little bunny and his mother!

Although the illustrations are monochromatic, they are well-detailed and my kids loved them. The text is also great for reading aloud!

This Makes Me Scared by Courtney Carbone ($4.40)

Kids will learn it’s okay to be scared—and how to confront their fears—in this installment of the Dealing with Feelings series. Paperback edition includes stickers!

In This Makes Me Scared, a young boy is terrified about taking swim lessons. The water is cold, chlorine burns his eyes, and worst of all, everyone is watching him. He’s scared that he’ll never learn to swim–or drown trying! When his instructor shows him how to calm his mind, the boy decides to face his fear and open himself up to a fun, new experience.

The Dealing with Feelings series of early readers is designed to give voice to what’s brewing inside. Through short, simple text and repetitive observational phrases, children will learn to name their emotions as they learn to read.

This book is from the Dealing With Feelings series! The series is designed to help kids properly identify what they feel and also builds their emotional vocabulary.

This book tells kids that it’s okay to be scared, using the story of a boy’s first day in his swim class.

The text is short and easy enough for young kids to comprehend. The illustrations also clearly portrayed what was happening in a particular moment.

Here’s everything in the kit! There’s a lot of shark-related items and my kids were so delighted!

The kit also includes 3 books! One is filled with trivia, the other is a fictional story, and the last one is an activity book.

My kids enjoyed the photos of real sharks on the trivia book. Meanwhile, the illustrations on the storybook are fascinating!

Their favorite from this month’s box is the whole kit featuring sharks. Aside from the books, it even included other fun stuff like a poster and a sticker.
