Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription. You get five makeup, beauty, skincare, and hair care items in a cute bag for $12 a month! It’s the most popular subscription box and a great way to sample new colors and beauty brands that you may have never heard of, as well as some of the bigger names. Ipsy also offers a Glam Bag Plus for $25 a month and Glam Bag Ultimate for $50 a month.

There are many bag variations every month for Ipsy – login to your account to check out how-to videos and tips for your products.

IPSY was founded on a singular mission: to inspire individuals around the world to express their unique beauty. Everything we do is to support you on your journey to self-discovery, so you’ll feel confident letting your unique beauty shine every day.

Most of my items were inside the cute makeup bag but make sure to double check the mailing bag, sometimes larger items (like makeup brushes) can be found there.

The bag for May is adorable, check out the ombre sunrise colors! Ipsy is stamped into the material in metallic silver. I appreciate that the branding is low-key.

The back looks the same but without the branding.

The inside is lined with polyester material. The bag measures 7.25″ x 4.75″. The bag has the same design as the bags sent in the Plus and Ultimate boxes, but the color and size/shape is different, so the bags coordinate if you get all three Ipsy levels.

One of my items came in its original box.

The theme for the May bag is Get That Glow!

The inside described how to get that summer glow with makeup.

Every subscriber has the opportunity to choose an item for their bag.  The back of the card mentioned that you can choose an item for your June bag on 5/21!

Everything in my box!

Purlisse Coconut Oil + Plumeria Silky Body Butter (Deluxe sample, $4) I know this says it’s a body butter but with a base of water and coconut oil it’s not thick enough to be a butter but is a really nice lotion. It was absorbed quickly and left behind a floral scent.

Moroccan Magic Manuka Honey Lipbalm (Full size, $3.98) We go through a lot of lip balm in my house so I’m always happy to discover new brands and flavors!

I also like a natural beauty brand and the ingredients here look clean to me!

The flavor is Manuka honey, and I’m not sure how that differs from regular honey, but the flavor reminded me of something that I’ve used in the past, and I finally remembered what – I think it was a cocoa body butter, like Palmer’s maybe? I’m not a fan, it’s kind of perfume-like, but it fades quickly, plus it left my lips soft.

Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara in Black (Deluxe sample, $9.75) This is slightly smaller than Benefit’s travel sized version, and it is also one of my favorite mascaras – it was my sample choice this month!

The wand hits every single one of my lashes. I have short lashes and this allows me to get close to the base without fears of poking my eyeball. It lengthens and separates my lashes and while no one is going to think I have falsies on, it does make them stand out more than other mascaras can.

Ciaté London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner in Black (Full size, $19) I received a similar item (liquid black eyeliner) in my Ipsy Ultimate bag this month so that was kind of disappointing. Liquid liner will never be my favorite item, I prefer a pencil, so having two almost identical items was kind of a bummer. Ipsy promises not to send the same item across the three bag levels and technically this isn’t the same since it’s a different brand.

I’m not very precise when I apply liner, and this one didn’t dry quickly so it kind of ran and when I blinked it transferred to my upper lid crease, not a cool look. My daughter really likes liquid liners so I’m going to pass it along to her and see what she thinks of it.

The Balm Cosmetics AutoBalm Day2Nite in Lombard St. (Deluxe sample, $5.50?) The shade I received is part of a palette and not available as a single, although The Balm sells singles so I gave it that value.

This is my very favorite color to use in my crease. Ipsy calls it a shimmery, matte espresso but I think it has a bit of purple and maybe taupe? Also, I think shimmery and matte are opposites but I get what they are saying – it has just a bit of sparkle, not a glitter bomb at all.

What do you think?

Here are the eyeshadow and liner swatched.

I just adore my new Ipsy bag, the bag designs this month for all three levels were just stunning! I was extremely pleased with my Benefit mascara sample choice, and the eyeshadow single is from a brand that I really like and the color is one of my favorites. The liner, lip balm, and lotion helped round out my bag and I must say it was eye focused this month, with three items for that area alone. The value for my bag was around $42.23!
