Annie’s Crochet Afghan Block-of-the-Month Club is a monthly subscription that sends materials and instructions for crocheting an afghan. The first kit will include yarn, patterns for your first 3 blocks, plus: a set of crochet hooks, tapestry needle, and illustrated stitch guide. For the consecutive kits, you will get yarn and patterns for 3 new blocks every month. For the final kit, they will provide you with materials to block your squares and guide you through seaming and adding the border to your afghan. Subscribers will receive a total of 11 monthly kits to complete one afghan. It’s a great way to learn new stitch skills while you create something useful. The subscription is $19.99 every month plus $5.95 shipping ($6.95 in Canada).

Each block uses a different stitch, so you’ll learn 30 stitches throughout the club!

The package came in a purple padded mailer.

There are two plastic pouches inside. One is a guide and the other is the kit itself.

Everything in my box!

The Crochet Guide came neatly packed.

Here’s what’s inside the Crochet Stitch Guide pouch! We get a guide and the tools needed for this project.

We got 2 crochet hooks and a tapestry needle.

The hooks have their size engraved in the middle part. I really like that they came in different colors so it’s easier for me to spot what I need without having to check on the engraving.

The Crochet Stitch Guide showcases the finished product and it looks so pretty!

They included illustrations with the instruction so it’s easier to follow. There is also general information that tells us more about the basics of understanding crochet.

There is also a Crochet Yarn Weight System chart so you can easily check if you have the right type of yarn for your chosen project!

The second pouch has the materials we need for blocks 1-3!

We got two rolls of yarn as well as the Stitch Sampler Afghan guide.

It features a photo of the finished product, just like the knit guide from the first pouch.

This one also includes instruction and information on how to make Blocks 1, 2 and 3. There’s a photo of each block’s design, as well as the skill level, gauge, and pattern notes.

They even listed basic knit abbreviations, so you can have a better understanding when reading step by step instructions once you get started with this project!

We got 2 balls of yarn for this set, each one contains 203 yards of 100% anti-piling acrylic yarn.

This acrylic yarn will make for a nice afghan because it’s soft. Acrylic yarn is the best choice as it’s easier to wash and is more durable compared to other types of yarns.

Even for those who are new to crocheting, this afghan project is fairly easy! They provide everything you need to know about the project, as well as crocheting guides, so you won’t go wrong. The materials they provide are also high-quality. I’m loving how soft the yarns are! Aside from completing an afghan after 11 months, you will also learn new crocheting skills that you can use in the future! This is really a great way to spend free time and make something beautiful while adding to your fiber craft repertoire!
