Everything in my box!

Steven Universe Lion, Mane Of Mystery by Molly Reisner ($17.95)

Packed with games, puzzles, and four colorful sheets of stickers, this Steven Universe activity book is filled with surprises—just like Lion!

Dive into the pink, fluffy, welcoming embrace of Lion’s mane and discover a world of mysteries and fun! Steven doesn’t know much about what Lion is, or where he came from, but it’s clear that Lion is one of the best magical animal companions a boy could ask for. Get to know the “Cotton Candy of the Jungle” in these exciting activities, and bring his other-dimensional world to life with gorgeous stickers!

It’s a fun activity book with Lion from Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe as the main character. He’s pink and he looks so cute!

We love interactive books, so this one’s a big hit with my kids. It’s also filled with illustrations that appeal to their imaginative minds.

If your kids are a fan of Steven Universe, this will be a lot more fun. There are various activities, like spotting the differences between two photos, creating a logo, and drawing your favorite shirt!

To test how much you know about Lion, there’s also a Truth and Lie quiz!

Will Wilder: The Relic Of Perilous Falls by Raymond Arroyo ($25)

Fans of Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Peter Lerangis’s Seven Wonders series will embrace this epic adventure in a rollicking new series by a New York Times bestselling author.

Will Wilder didn’t mean to unlock his otherworldly gift. But that is exactly what happens when Will “borrows” a sacred relic believed to protect the town of Perilous Falls for nearly a century. Even though his intentions are good, the impulsive twelve-year-old unwittingly awakens an ancient evil endangering all of Perilous Falls.

As boats sink and hideous creatures crawl from the rising waters, it is up to Will to confront a nightmarish enemy and set things right before it is too late. Along with his sweet—if lethal—great-aunt Lucille, the curator of a museum of supernatural artifacts, Will proves that the actions of one twelve-year-old boy can change the world.

This story is all about fantasy and adventure, with a touch of Catholicism. We love Percy Jackson, so we’re quite excited about this one.

The author has a creative writing style that allows the reader to easily visualize each scene. Also, the story is quite fast-paced, leaving my kids really thrilled!

This is the first book of a series, so the ending is understandably a cliffhanger. It’s still a great read overall!

Poison by Sarah Albee ($12.42)

Science geeks and armchair detectives will soak up this non-lethal, humorous account of the role poisons have played in human history. Perfect for STEM enthusiasts!

For centuries, people have been poisoning one another—changing personal lives and the course of empires alike.

From spurned spouses and rivals, to condemned prisoners like Socrates, to endangered emperors like Alexander the Great, to modern-day leaders like Joseph Stalin and Yasser Arafat, poison has played a starring role in the demise of countless individuals. And those are just the deliberate poisonings. Medical mishaps, greedy “snake oil” salesmen and food contaminants, poisonous Prohibition, and industrial toxins also impacted millions.

Part history, part chemistry, part whodunit, Poison: Deadly Deeds, Perilous Professions, and Murderous Medicines traces the role poisons have played in history from antiquity to the present and shines a ghoulish light on the deadly intersection of human nature . . . and Mother Nature.

Now, we got a book about the science and history behind poisons! It’s nice to read non-fiction once in a while and this is a great book choice.

The book tells us the history of poisons, from ancient times up to the modern days.

It’s also accompanied by photos, as well as other interesting trivia.

They wrote it in such a way that kids will easily understand. There are also fun and witty bits!

We’re loving the variety of books from this month’s Kids BookCase Club! There’s fiction and non-fiction plus an activity book, and all of them were a hit with my kids. This subscription makes a great way to encourage your kids to read and also makes a great bonding time for the family. If you’re still trying to build a home library for your kids, this is also a great option. We’re excited about future boxes!
