Everything in my January 2020 SCOUTbox!

Backpacker’s Pantry Carrot Cake Pancakes ($6.50) Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, even when you’re spending time outdoors. This pancake mix is one convenient breakfast option when camping, as it’s easy to prepare and it’s packed with energy-boosting ingredients like hemp and quinoa!

It’s gluten-free and dairy-free as well. The back of the pack lists the instructions on how to prepare the pancake. You just have to mix it with water, stir, and cook on a skillet. You can also add butter, honey, or maple syrup if you wish.

Keep Nature Wild Vinyl Sticker ($3) Also included in our pack are exclusive vinyl stickers from SCOUTbox and Keep Nature Wild! One is rectangular, with their tagline “By Scouts For Scouts.” The other sticker features a yellow background and a text that says “Pack It In, Pack It Out.”

Cusa Tea (Tea Sampler) It’s a taster pack of organic tea which includes English Breakfast, Oolong Tea, and Mango Tea!

The back of the pack features all the things you need to know about the teas, including the ingredients and instruction for use. To use just open the stick and pour contents into a cup, then add either hot or cold water.

These are easy to pack and perfect to bring on trips to ensure that you can enjoy tea even in the wild!

Aside from the sample packs, we also got a card containing a 50% off coupon code from Cusa Tea.

Outdoor Element Firebiner – National Parks Edition ($14.95) This handy gear is a specialized type of shackle made from a metal loop with a spring-loaded gate that is used to quickly hook-up tools, combining simple functionality with a handy flint and steel mechanism.

The parts of this Firebiner are all listed at the back of the packaging. This tool has a total weight capacity of up to 100 lbs.

Aside from the tool itself, the kit also includes a pair of replacement Ferro Rods for fire-making.

It’s a multi-functional tool that can be used to carry equipment, start a fire, open a bottle, and loosen or tighten a screw.

You can also clip keys, camera, water bottle, or other items on the holes provided on the tool and then attached it to your backpack, shelf, fence, tree, or even to your belt loops.

Outdoor Element Wombat Whistle-Vial Kit ($6.99) Here’s another camping tool, a handy whistle-vial made from POM thermoplastic which makes it durable and lightweight too. This also works as a storage for tinder and spare Ferro rods.

This whistle is a great tool for signaling whenever you lose your way or when you’re in distress.

The kit includes a Wombat Whistle-Vial which can produce 115 decibel sound, Tinder Quiks Fire Tabs made from treated cotton fibers that can burn for 1-2 minutes, and a mini screwdriver which can also be used as a reflector.

The screw-top chamber has a rubber seal that keeps the area water-tight.

SCOUTbox keeps on sending us awesome outdoor stuff every month and we couldn’t be happier! This month’s box includes a variety of practical outdoor tools, as well as edible items that I can enjoy even during my outdoor adventures. I definitely love all the gear I got this month, but if I have to pick a favorite, it would be the multi-purpose carabiner. It’s really useful and I love that I can easily pack it with me wherever I go. This box is surely impressive and I’m certainly looking forward to more useful items on my next box!
