The flip side lists all the items in the box!

They also included an adorable mini-magazine!

Of course, the mini-magazine includes an author interview! This month’s featured author is Kiersten White. Knowing what inspired the author to pen a story can help children understand the book better.

They also suggested some titles for further reading, especially if you love this month’s book:

The mini-magazine also included some fun activities, while the other page is another interview, and this time, with a vendor, Novelly Yours!

There’s also a box photo challenge that you can join.

Everything in our December 2019 OwlCrate!

Castle Enamel Pin. This month’s enamel pin is designed by Read and Wonder, and it’s a castle!

The castle reminded me of the Dragon’s castle from Sleeping Beauty, but this is actually inspired by the castle in the novel, The Guinevere Deception!

Book Sleeve. The book sleeve is really cool. It’s designed by Chatty Nora and based on the novel, the Sorcery of Thorns.

It was always wise to be polite to books whether or not they could hear you.

Owlcrate Exclusive Coloring Book. After a year of pins from OwlCrate, here’s a coloring book that features them all!

Here’s one of the pins, it’s from the February 2019 Owl Crate that is themed Whimsical Beasts!

This pin design is from the July 2019 OwlCrate that has the theme Tournaments and Trials.

Owlcrate Exclusive Bookish Colored Pencils. Since there’s a coloring book, it’s just fitting to get a set of coloring materials, like this box of colored pencils!

We got 12 colored pencils and we can’t wait to use them on the coloring book!

Sky In The Deep Hand Warmer. This hand warmer is perfect because it is really cold right now!

The pack includes the instructions on how to use this hand warmer.

The pack contains a sleeve cozy and a heat pad.

After activation, I just have to put it inside the sleeve and let it warm my hands. So comfy!

Ear Muffs. Here’s another item to keep me warm and cozy, earmuffs! It’s also from Team OwlCrate!

The design is also based on another book series, which is the Caraval Series.

Mount Ruin Fire + Cinnamon Chai Candle. Novelly Yours handmade this amazing wood wick candle!

The candle is based on the fiery Mt. Ruin from Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart. It’s fire and cinnamon chai!

This month’s book is sealed with an OwlCrate Exclusive sticker, and it tells us that it is also a signed edition.

The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White – SIMILAR ($9.08)

A new fantasy series set in the world of Camelot that bestselling author Christina Lauren calls “brilliant,” reimagining the Arthurian legend . . . where nothing is as magical and terrifying as a girl.

Princess Guinevere has come to Camelot to wed a stranger: the charismatic King Arthur. With magic clawing at the kingdom’s borders, the great wizard Merlin conjured a solution–send in Guinevere to be Arthur’s wife . . . and his protector from those who want to see the young king’s idyllic city fail. The catch? Guinevere’s real name–and her true identity–is a secret. She is a changeling, a girl who has given up everything to protect Camelot.

To keep Arthur safe, Guinevere must navigate a court in which the old–including Arthur’s own family–demand things continue as they have been, and the new–those drawn by the dream of Camelot–fight for a better way to live. And always, in the green hearts of forests and the black depths of lakes, magic lies in wait to reclaim the land.

Deadly jousts, duplicitous knights, and forbidden romances are nothing compared to the greatest threat of all: the girl with the long black hair, riding on horseback through the dark woods toward Arthur. Because when your whole existence is a lie, how can you trust even yourself? *THE FIRST BOOK IN THE CAMELOT RISING TRILOGY*

There’s a note from the author as well.

If you’re familiar with the Arthurian legend, you will definitely love this retelling of the legend!

Princess Guinevere will be married to King Arthur, but there’s always a catch with this kind of story, which makes it more exciting and interesting!

This is also the first book in the Camelot Rising Trilogy. To know more about this first book, you can refer to the dust jacket as it includes the synopsis.

I really want to know how this story will turn out, and what are the secrets of the Princess, why can’t she even trust herself. It is really intriguing.

Camelot, and everything about King Arthur, along with Merlin, and the knights of the round table are really a classic, and I am really interested if this retelling will change a thing, or make me change my mind on certain things that we get used to, especially when it comes to the Arthurian Myth, or how the Princess becomes a real good trickster in the novel.

The book perfectly fits in the included book sleeve!

There’s the author’s signature on the first page!

As always, there’s an included card that gives us the theme for the next box. For January 2020, it’s all about VENGEANCE!

At the back, it says that every January box will include a mug from artist Cara Kozik!

Owl Crate comes up with the coolest themes and this month’s box is not an exception! We all love the book, a retelling of the Arthurian legend and myth. The bookish items are just as wonderful, especially the cozy hand warmers and earmuffs which are perfect to use right now because it’s really cold! The designs for the pin and the book sleeve are also amazing! We’re definitely looking forward to the next box!
