The books are looking amazing!

There’s a card that wishes us to enjoy the January 2020 box.

Everything in my box!

Each box from this book subscription includes a toy or item in line with the book’s theme. This month, it’s a rocket puzzle!

We easily figured out how to build this one! I think we just need to get our colorful markers and add some details to it!

Mitford at the Hollywood Zoo by Donald Robertson ($15.43)

Mitford is a giraffe. But not your everyday, live-on-the-savanna giraffe. Mitford works at Cover magazine, in one of the biggest cities in the world!

But now another city needs Mitford, and soon the chic giraffe is surrounded by palm trees and super-famous celebrities! It would be great to sunbathe by the pool, but it’s the day of the Acadamy Zoowards and these movie stars must have the most fabulous dress or tux ever.

Can Mitford deliver everyone’s fashion demands on time?

The back of the book features some brief reviews. We’re also loving the cute sketch!

We love the art style in this book. They look like sketches and not all parts are colored but they easily capture a kid’s attention.

It shows us how Mitford the giraffe delivers everyone’s fashion demands.

This story can be an inspiration for kids who want to enter the world of arts and fashion! They can learn a bunch of techniques from the illustrator and Mitford!

Heartbeat by Evan Turk ($7.60)

This cinematic picture book from critically acclaimed author and illustrator Evan Turk follows the life of a baby whale from birth, to song, to silence, to a new song of compassion and hope for a brighter future.

Two hearts, one song.
A young whale and her mother sing together.
Heartbeat.
Then the mother is gone.
One heart, one song.
The young whale swims, alone and lonely,
for days and years and decades…
until one day a little girl hears her and joins her song.
Together, they sing of hope for a brighter future.
One world, one song,
one heartbeat.

We love the book’s colorful cover! The back cover tells us more about the author, Evan Turk.

The tale’s preview is also printed on one of the dust jacket’s flaps.

We were all in awe when we opened the book and saw the colorful illustrations. They all look like they’re glowing in the dark!

Aside from the nice story, what we love most about the book is definitely the artwork that complements the amazing storytelling technique!

It’s a nice tale that tells us more about the life of a whale, and how we can relate to it.

Officer Panda Sky Detective by Ashley Crowley ($17.41)

Officer Panda is back and ready for takeoff!

When Officer Panda finds some strange clues on the police helicopter runway, he takes flight to solve the case. Confetti, a balloon, mysterious packages…could there be a surprise waiting for everyone’s favorite police officer? Find out in this follow-up to Officer Panda: Fingerprint Detective.

From author-illustrator Ashley Crowley comes a delightful picture book with charming illustrations reminiscent of artists like Oliver Jeffers.

The front cover has a nice illustration of Officer Panda, and at the back is a squirrel carrying a mystery package!

Even the endpaper has a police helicopter sketch, which is related to the story!

Just like the first book, the book contains fun and cute illustrations of pandas and other lovely creatures.

We also love that the story is like a comic that is easier to read and picture out because of the included thought bubbles.

It’s fun to follow his adventures! At first, it seemed like he’s solving a case but it turned out that it’s for his surprise birthday party!

What a great selection of fun and colorful books! Each book has its own unique art style, and everything’s effective in keeping the kids engaged. Our favorite is the beautiful picture book featuring a whale. Coming in a close second is Officer Panda’s story! They are all excellent reads and each story has wonderful lessons to impart as well. We’re excited about the next set of amazing books that are coming in the next month!
