the person I was expecting to help me taste the champagne had to cancel at the last minute. I decided to taste the Chandon ( alittle “flinty” for my taste) anyway. I left about one third of the bottle, but forgot to put the stopper in place. In the space of a half hour, when I went to stopper it, the bottle had become a deadly trap for these tiny winged bugs. There must have been more than a hundred that had become trapped and drowned in that half hour. The champagne was spoiled,of course, but these pests have disappeared completely from my house. This is the third day without them. I thought you might be amused by this unexpected “feature” of the Chandon.
