The first thing that caught my attention is this eyeshadow brush, and the design is related to the theme!
The magnifying glass at the end of the brush is working as it magnifies the small letters from the bookmark to make them more readable.
Story Book Cosmetics The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes. One thing that impresses me with this make-up collection is the book-like packaging for each collection. It’s like they came straight out of a library. This collection even features the book’s first edition cover which was published in 1892!
The packaging’s “spine” is similar to the real book as well, so if you stored this on your shelves, no one would suspect that it contains make-up inside!
It’s a cool idea to combine novels and make-up. When it comes to themes and packaging, there’ll be a lot of ideas that they can try!
As you open the beautiful packaging, you’ll be greeted with a quote from the book’s author, located just beneath the big mirror. The other side presents the make-up collection: 3 big pans of eye make-up, and a liquid lipstick!
Of course, the labels are all related to the novel.
The 2 matte eyeshadows are Sherlock (brick red) and Moriarty (black), and the only shimmery eyeshadow is Watson (gold).
I am expecting a bold color for the lipstick, but I got a shade that is quite mellow and closer to nude. No worries because this kind of shade is my go-to color for my everyday look! The lippie is very pigmented, and the wand applicator makes it easy to swipe the color on my lips.
I am really cool with this collection. I didn’t get just the make-up items, they included a cool brush as well!
Here are the swatches! On top is the shimmery eyeshadow, followed by the matte eyeshadows, and then last is the liquid lipstick.
Storybook Club Cosmetics is a fun and cute make-up subscription! All the make-up here is cruelty-free and made in the USA. The themes are great, so as the packaging. I really love the book covers! They really showed us how creative they can get, from the shade selection that relates to the novels, up to the labels and shade names. However, there’s always room for improvement, and I think they could work on the shadow palettes to make greater color pay-off. I am still looking forward to the next “classic novel”!
